Guys, it seems that my iPod touch 2G won't charge anymore after plugging it to my laptop. Does this mean the battery died?

I also tried the following:
1) All the steps in the apple website
2) Plugging to pc for more than an hour

However, the device still won't charge. If i send to replace, how long will it take? Thx guys.
