You are free to do so smile.gif. Otherwise, don't need to be so formal. Do pm TS about the details of your car to be added into the member list of the first page . Again welcome  thumbup.gif .

Have fun!

Btw, any recommendations bout which workshop to go to in Penang Island (preferbly Bayan Lepas/Bayan Baru/ Bkt Jambul area) for Car servicing/maintainence/repairs?
*
emm... normal maintainence can try M-power (Jelutong/Air Itam), Bosch (opposite PISA)... around RM25 per workmanship...
If really wanna save money for simple oil change, can try Anwar spare part shop (opposite Pesta) or those shops near old JPJ (like Huat Huat)...
I heard Northern Garage (Sg Ara) not bad, but never tried before...
nowadays pretty hard to find good shops for old Wira... sigh...

Last time still can find the old machine (with scope and computer screen) at Johor JB to tune the engine timing for this old junk (carb wira), but at PG island, haven't manage to find one yet...
all is tune through human ear and those flash-light type... or expensive tune is through dyno with sensor at exhaust...
SIGH ...

Added on February 6, 2011, 5:03 pmAnyone changed their Wira exhaust to HotBits?
Hotbits extractor + original Wira mid & rear?
Hotbits extractor + Hotbits mid section + original rear muffler?
or whole set HotBits exhaust system?

Can share the experience, comment, feedback and key-learnings?

i changed mine whole set.
fuel consumption not much difference from standard, but when tekan i guess the engine strain less...and dont have the damn high pitched frog sound coming out like standard exhaust.

recently, 1 stupid plastic bag or something landed on my exhaust tip and melted onto it...now i still trying to figure out how to remove it...wd40 cannot work tongue.gif
*
can goto hardware shop asking for those liquid to remove car paint... specify car paint... i used once, it's very strong, kena hand the hand become red instantly...

for the hotbit exhaust, i am ordering for extractor and mid section only, wanted to keep the original rear because afraid too loud...
any comment on the noise/exhaust sound?
how about the power side? no change in FC, but power got increase?

how to check my wira sedan is it 1.3 or 1.5?? sweat.gif

went i brake sometimes got "kreek kreek"..but my break still bite but quiet sometime this brake pad not change..is it bcause of brake pad?? can anyone suggest me any good brand for wira.. around RM100 - 150 less dust and bite..i saw in forum they said metal king and rapid stop quiet ok

this car also rear suspension really soft edi..normally bcause of spring or absorber??
if i just change 1 pair of it like change the absorber but used prev spring is it ok??
what range of price of spring n absorber for wira?? myb like apm,gab or myb other brand that also good...

sorry i quiet noob in car sweat.gif ..and afraid get con by workshop and can give me what market price atlist can nego wit the tokey..

just to share what i am using... front brake pads is Pumatec, RM135 (dunno kena chop or not), not much dust, bite is good, quiet...
Rear absorber is Sachs Super Touring (http://www.zf.com/brands/content/en/sachs/products_sachs/suspension_sachs/car_shock_absorbers/super_touring/super_touring.html)... RM85 per pair 2 years ago... firm and nice... suspension rubber mount changed to 1.5 inches one (dunno what's the correct name), and car bottom no longer hit bump even with 5 adults going through bump without brake... if u everyday on super heavy load, can use 2 inches one...
Monroe sensatrac is nice too if u have more budget...

weird why dunno the car is 1.3 or 1.5... can check the geran ah.... or roadtax...

just make sure the car suspension, brake and tyres are in good shape and use trusted brands, then at least safer.... smile.gif

ei, proton gb oil ok or nt?
all the while i am using proton gb oil... since 1995... last year gatal gatal changed brand then became slippery, then switch back to proton immediately... and problem solved... banyak takut, cos the auto gb already 16 years...
so suggest stick to proton and the correct change interval... and change the gb oil filter as well...

Added on February 18, 2011, 6:50 am2. Maybe the disc brake problem.
Your brake pad worn out ard. You might need to skims the disc if still got sound after change the pad coz the disc surface is damaged.
front brake pads is Pumatec, RM135 (dunno kena chop or not), not much dust, bite is good, quiet...

just for add-on, it's pumatec 480

Soft means your spring soft ard. If just changed the abs might feels like solved the problem but the abs will spoilt very fast coz it have to hold the car weight instead of the springs.
Rear absorber is Sachs Super Touring
suspension rubber mount

i hope the spring still ok just the abs prob..my wira lowered on the back sometime see from far look like not stable doh.gif
i will check the product and the rubber mount people said will make ur car feel hard went bump if not setting properly or not suitable ..

the mounting thing ah, i hope i didn't confuse you with those rubber stuff to restraint spring movement... the rubber mounting that i refer to is put between the suspension & the car chassis, not to put at spring there to restraint the movement to have a firmer ride... i dun believe in latter, cos rubber will harden over time....

ur 4g92p result is stock engine??no modification?manual or auto?
*
it is really efficient as manual if ur readings are correct...
according to wiki,
4G92P SOHC 16 Valve
Total Displacement - 1597cc
Bore - 81.0mm
Stroke - 77.5mm
Compression Ratio - 10:1
Maximum Output (1) - 83 kW (113 PS; 111 bhp) @ 6,000 rpm & 137 N·m (101 ft·lbf) @ 5,000 rpm
Maximum Output (2) - 69 kW (94 PS; 93 bhp) @ 5,500 rpm & 135 N·m (100 ft·lbf) @ 4,000 rpm
(1): Early European and JDM versions with 20°/42° intake and 54°/2° exhaust valve timing
(2): General export and later European versions with 14°/58° intake and 52°/16° exhaust valve timing

I assume 80WHP is already a very low figure plus the condition of my engine was quite healthy being 15 years old.

That time was exhaust,K&N drop in air filter, 60mm TB, PNP head, LCP, Denso iridium plugs, 10mm cables and fast road spec cams. ECU still stock standard without rechipping or piggyback.

With the same mods when I converted to manual, I released an additional 15WHP and >30Nm of torque. Anyway, HP gains varies from engine to engine. Some of you with the same mods might get lower or higher than what I got.

Hi, any recommendation where to upgrade exhaust system (extractor and center box) for my 4g13 around Puchong?
*
i just changed my 16-yr old exhaust to hotbits extractor & mid section... didn't put on dyno, but butt-dyno feeling more powerful; with the price of exhaust sound being a little bit more noisier...
the problem of "cacat 3-speed auto which always give a pain in the ass with high-rpm style engine braking when accelerator is released" is reduced quite a lot... the car can "roll" further after accelerator is released...
previously when need more power out from this old junk, i would switch off the aircond compressor... but after changing the extractor & mid section, no longer need to use this lame method...
the price is not at cheap side (to me)... you can check at speedworks website...
part quality and workmanship is good... although i need to wait for >3 weeks for the manufacturing of the extractor because the model for wira was sold out and their orders were piling up due to Chinese New Year long shutdown...
anyhow, i would suggest change the whole thing from front to end... i am keeping the rear section (maybe temporary smile.gif) because have to fetch kids with this car...
