Added on October 2, 2011, 10:26 pmOriginal 15" is too gay for me, got the rims changed two weeks after I got the car

18" with Yokohama S-drive measured at 225/35/18

Good thing doesn't last long, got smashed by a motor bike and scratched the rims really bad cry.gif
Sent for welding and respray which costs around Rm 70

Some of u might not know that the interior of a 1.6L CBU is so dull that even the handle are in dark colors, sent the handle to paint shop and now I am a 2.0L-interior-wannabe
user posted image

Replaced the hard rubber bushing (black color) to the new PU (Polyurethane - red color) bushing for more solid handling

Wow... all these bars looks cool, but are they heavy?
But 18" for 1.6 engine should be losing lot of power, how's the response after that?  shocking.gif
*
bars are light weight don't worry about smile.gif
Thanks to the close ratio gearbox I don't feel much loss in acceleration but I've clearly know that this car is never meant for performance so it would only be cosmetic mod smile.gif

QUOTE(SupraTT3.0 @ Oct 2 2011, 11:00 PM)
Have to remove front strut bar to open the cover of battery box?
*
Yeap, but I only do a regular battery water level check once a month so its not a hassle for me, will be changing to maintenance-free battery after this one kong tongue.gif

QUOTE(gahpadu @ Oct 2 2011, 11:30 PM)
nice rims...hows the damage?

around 1.7k cool.gif

Added on October 2, 2011, 11:54 pmOriginal suspension matched with 225/35/18 is seriously gay, leaving front fender gap between fender and tyre with almost 8 fingers is GAY, so I got myself a set of GAB SS coilovers(High low soft hard) 2 weeks after I changed those wheels

Edit: nice job junl00ng...btw how heavy are the rims?
*
1.6 and 2.0 its the same, PCD 114.3 5H biggrin.gif

Rims should be around 8-10 KG not too sure, never really weight those hehe

QUOTE(soapkeong @ Oct 3 2011, 09:29 AM)
Wow, change to 18" rim 1.6 will be heavier and performance slower?? I'm thinking quite sometime think weather wanna change it or not.. haha
*
For me this car is never meant for performance, so tarak care so much lah ahahha

Wow Wat a great add on! Bravo JunLong =D

Hmm..any comments bout using the Eibach Pro-Kit for the 2.0L M3?? Was considering for replacing it..LOL!
*
I've actually considered the Eibach pro-kit before but it won't lower much and since im using 225/35/18 tyres i need something to lower it much lower than the pro-kit can do smile.gif

O.o...was wondering for 225/45/18 and recommend?or 235/45/18? Shouldn't be lowering it much..=\
*
Should be fine as pro kit lowers front by 1.2" and 1.1" at the rear biggrin.gif

http://performance-suspension.eibach.com/c..._2010___pro_kit

y not go for fully adjustable coilovers? Differences in handling are very significant.

No problem, you're always the first to remind me of when it comes to buying a brand new Mazda

QUOTE(SupraTT3.0 @ Oct 3 2011, 08:52 PM)
So today I called up Penang island SC, asked them if it is okay to bring and use my own engine oil during regular service. Reply was, "If you are under 3yr free service package, better use our oil. If not anything happen to the car or engine, we will not cover."  mad.gif

Thoughts anyone?
Those who service in KL or any other SC and bring their own engine oil, did you enquire about warranty issues beforehand? Responses from SC?

Just to add, regular service does not include wheel rotation, balancing and alignment. Done at my own cost outside.  hmm.gif
*
smile.gif

I personally advice to use their engine oil (I top up Rm 108 for full-syn) for the sake of the engine warranty biggrin.gif

I used semi-syn for my first service too but since their service schedule is 10000km, I went for fully-syn even they told me that their semi-syn could last as long as 10000km.

I was asked to top up rm140 for fully syn Helix Ultra. It is a barely acceptable fully synthetic engine oil. For that price + abit more, can easily get much better brands of fully syn engine oil.
*
Why so expensive? SC here only charge Rm 108 for fully syn helix Ultra too.

Junloong...u work for Ultraracing is it? cos i emailed someone in UR with the same name asking bout M3 parts sometime ago too smile.gif

I am interested in the ARB.. how much does it cost you plus the PU bushes? What is the thickness of the the stock ARB btw? I wanted to get the Corksport one..but unless want to ship that damn thing over, unlikely can get it locally..
*
Price for ARB will be Rm 480, PU bush Rm 120- Rm 150 (I've forgotten the price tongue.gif ) , UR ARB will be 23mm.

Below is the official receipt from Bermaz, I've blinded out some details just in case.

I feel somehow it is very unfair for other region to actually pay for extra with the same thing. Good luck dealing with SC guys smile.gif

Bro Junloong, just curious, after you lowered your car, is it too low for you to go over bumpers?
*
Definitely, using rubber with profile 35 is a big mistake, forcing me to lower it further more in order to get the decent gap between fender and tyres. My bumper didn't the hit the bump, its the part which we usually jack up the side lower of the car which hits the bump.

I'll probably go for 235/40/18 or 235/45/18 on the next tyre change

Owh, so it means if I'm going to change to 18' rims with tyre profile 40 or 45 then I should be safe without hitting bumpers? I am not really considering lowering, just considering changing rims... biggrin.gif
*
45 should be a perfect match, if its still high for you, you might want to consider Eibach pro-kit which is very practical for street use smile.gif

How stiff is the UR ARB compared to stock? I read that the stock is around 20mm (for 2.0L..is it same for 1.6L?)...is that right?
*
Sizes of the stock ARB for both 1.6L and 2.0L is the same

QUOTE(gladfly @ Oct 5 2011, 04:09 PM)
Maybe the difference is the amount of EO...as I know 2.0 uses more EO than 1.6.

But I do agree Helix Ultra sucks for the price of 220. There are plenty fully syn oils out there for less.
*
Hey, u've just reminded me lol

does anyone else know the sizes of the oil sump for both 1.6L and 2.0L?
