BUTTERWORTH: The Road Transport Department is looking into the possibility of amending the Road Transport Act to fine motorists who fix television screens and DVD players in their vehicles.

State Road Transport Department (JPJ) director Datuk Hassan Yaacob said an amendment could be made under Section 66 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for making vehicle alterations without permission.

“It is illegal and dangerous to fix these accessories. A driver can easily get distracted and it may result in accidents,’’ he said.

Hassan said enforcement teams would check if vehicles had complied with approved specifications.

“Those with xenon headlights will be fined RM300 while vehicles with fancy number plates will be fined RM120.

“In the end, they waste money by paying thrice – fixing the parts, paying the fine and paying again to remove them,” he said.

Hassan was commenting on the increasing number of motorists fixing televisions and DVD player sets in their vehicles.

On vehicles that are factory fitted with DVD players and GPS navigators, he said the department would have to look into it.

Ahhh....me didnt notice that... tongue.gif
to me the paddles is quite fun on the M3. But a bit weird..cause usually left is for down and right is for up.
M3 punya paddles for down and button for up... a bit redundunt having 2 sets at wheel. And the paddles kinda a bit slow also...sometimes when push to D you flick the paddles..the gears wont change. Somekind of overwrite I think. Only when pushed to manual shift the paddles will response exactly as how you wish to change the gears. Any other ppl have same problems or mine is a "special" case..
*
Not redundant. This is the type of paddle shift that I want. Not those city paddle shift.

Same here. Using d the autochanging not smooth. Everytime need overwrite

Yes this I agree. It is a crap sc. Why I say this
1. 1st service - back door cannot open from inside. I don't need a pack of service perdonnel to repair the one and only door
2. 10 000km service - same thing happen again. Pack of ppl up to 4 person service one car. Thats why you need to wait damn long for your car althought not many people - less than 5 for that afternoon.
Not happy that they only use semi syntetic engine oil because the engine oil become kopi o @ 10 000
I call them to check brake pad whivh I think never check because in my opinion you need to unscrew the tyre in order to see the brake pad.

Mine also got shift delay. I need to rev high in order to get the gear change. I complain nut they say is nothing . Computer says nothing. Whivh I believe is due to the type of engine oil you use. Things get smooth up after you change new engine oil.

To me their service is ala proton

I visited the Exhibition at 1u today. After looking at the exhibition, I would say I am a proud owner of m3 cbu although I feel a little bit short change because the new model comes with touch screen and leather seat.

How much are they charging? 8 mil is quite thick. I'm afraid you'd have problems with the auto windows having hard time sliding up and down. I can already feel that 6mil 3M on my Mazda5 is a little bit thick. Best would be to go with 4 or 6 mil. I think it would be cheaper too.

Does Bermaz still give out rebates with regards to tinting?

Anyway, even though I believe you can get tinting done cheaper outside, but the thing is if anything goes wrong, GS can be held liable. With special tools, door panels can be easily opened and it would not void warranty.

I use 8 mil. No problem at all

thanks, jchue73.

i'm now considering window tinting - v-kool.  has anyone here done v-kool tinting at GS accessories, jalan 222?  If yes, how's te workmanship?

i'm considering v-kool secure (8mil) for sides & v-kool elite (front & back).  if any of you did tis at GS, how much did they quote u?  did you have your door panels disassembled during installation? will it void te warranty?

How to install the tint without disassembling the door panel

damn. then i should try glenmarie on my next service. just wondering if i can do my 5000km oil change outside instead of sc. anyone knows?

What is the point to do it outside?
Aren't yours included 3 year fee service?
*
QUOTE(cody1508 @ Mar 18 2011, 06:07 PM)
free service is for every 10000km. i used semi syn on my last service. so im thinking now to whether to change the oil cuz it's approaching 5000 km or just wait till it reaches 10000 km.
*
Because semi syntetic oil cannot last 10,000km. I have post this before. PJSC cheapskate SC only give semi syntetic. So some/we have to change oil every 5K.
I wonder any SC giving full syntetic.

FYI I have lodged a long complain at PJSC for ineficiency of service but I doubt they take any action.

My ride now at 11,000. TYRE noise seems to be better now compare with earlier.

Now the ride is superb.

What you want to do with your car??? Circuit racing??? Who will care about how fast it gets to 100, if care so much on this, FERRARI will be your choice.

There aint anywhere that you can sprint your car in these busy town.

If M3 is underpower you might consider the beast MPS.
