 Is Depression a Chronic disease ?

My girlfriend is doing assignment about Depression.

Just wonder, do Depression classify as Chronic Disease ? I know there is Chronic depression, but isn't normal depression need long term treatment too ?

Hmm, I don't think depression is a disease itself. It is probably a disorder, but not a disease tongue.gif

Is more of a mental disorder problem..I don't suppose this can be classified as terminal illness?

It is a chronic mental disorder. Depression can be due to many reasons and some are related to terminal illness. Depression also could lead to a terminal illness and the most worrying part is suicidal risk.

and there's books around that talk about depression. maybe you should just purchase a book there and get your parents to income tax it tongue.gif
