Hi all Sifu's out there,

I have a samsung LCD and a pioneer sound system. both supports HDMI. but I want to connect my PS3 through the sound system and them to the LCD. Is this possible? Will there be a problem?

Can the PS3 go through the sound system and then to the LCD TV? will the sound be delayed?

the reason why is that the LCD speakers are not that good and i think they are just standard. If i get to use the pioneer sound system, it will be better cause i will have the surround sound ....

thanks smile.gif smile.gif biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

Thanks all... i think the pioneer system got HDMI OUT only and does not have an out. This optical cable, what kind of cable is this? DIGITAL? and when it is connected, what mode do you put on your pioneer system? LINE1? because what is happening now, i have HDMI OUT from pioneer system to LCD tv. So i dont think i can set the PS3 to pioneer through HDMI.

According to spec, look like your sound system no OPTICAL IN. So you can't use optical cable from PS3 to sound system.

You can connect your system as follow:-
PS3---HDMI---LCD---AV cable(normally red and white colour)---sound system

You can't get actual dts or AC3 sound from PS3, but still can produce sorround sound via Dolby Pro logic II.

OH damn!!! thanks for pointing that out or else i would have gotten one. So when i use the the connection as you have stated, on the sound system i would choose LINE 1 correct? and then do i have to change the audio function on the TV too. Cause as i know, HDMI is intergrated meaning audio and video together.

LINE 1 is ANALOG IN? if yes, then select LINE 1.
No need any setting at LCD as long as connect to AUDIO OUT at LCD.

Oh i have tried that but there is no sound. So i think i might have to set the settings either on TV or PS3. I will give it a go and let you all know. Thanks smile.gif
