nice question bro.. was thinking the same thing..
but if YES USB modem have a driver, for sure cannot..
but if u connect YES to your LAPTOP/PC, then use RJ45 cable to your PS3.. it'll work..
*
for better and easier sharing i think maybe we can use the USB 3G router hmm.gif

lets say, i buy the the usb and direct connect to the ps3..can it connect? and can 3g router support 4g? me on networking is very sak..haha!
afaik should be no problem since router act as a internet server..but IF the protocol is different

direct connect?i don't think so since PS3 should install the modem driver 1st to recognize the modem hmm.gif

why not buy outside? i think is the same and they do give you HDMI cable right? if you want to buy from sony center, i think you want it to be installment payment then.

thank you. so the best solution is to buy the 3g modem router or connect it with pc la?
*
using a router is the best solution compare to use an ICS via a pc..but just make sure the USB 3G router can be use with 4G modem..even imho it's just a same thing..the different only speed+company laugh.gif

is it safe to leave the plug connected (power switch off) all the time? will thunder also spoilt ps3 even though its plug switch off?
*
yes it can but depend to u'r house grounding laugh.gif

QUOTE(lopak @ Nov 29 2010, 09:50 AM)
use hdmi dvi for video and optical cable if your sonic gear support it or use the composite cable came with your ps3 for audio(red and white)

set ps3 sound setting to use the optical or av multi
*
don't think Sonic Gear speaker will have an optical input bro..yes we can use the composite cable..then get a Y split to connect to 3.5mm jack

Would playing a PS3 on a 27" be sufficient? Or is it wasting, meaning, should get a bigger monitor...
*
monitor or TV?

if monitor, then we use to play just like we use the computer..for me 24" is big enough

if TV, u need to get at least 42". THe bigger the better. Don't really care it's Brand, HD or FHD. Plasma or LCD or LED (backlight)..depend to u'r preferences and the most important thing..MONEY sweat.gif

QUOTE(hewtwok @ Nov 30 2010, 09:43 AM)
hi guys,

When we bought our DS3, do we need to charge 8 hours b4 use?

And when we buy PS3 slim My set original, is the box sealed in any way?

Thanks.
*
no need..just charge it until full

i got mine sealed..and i do ask the shop i want a sealed box tongue.gif but imho u can accept an unsealed box if u bought from Sony Center since don't think they will replace the ORI DS with fake one since they can't sell a loose DS3 without the original packaging

Step 3: Activating the “Self-Cleaning” Feature
You may not realize this, but Sony wants to help you clean your PS3 too (well anything built later than the 40GB model). To facilitate this, the company built in a neat power on function that is meant to dust out the interior of the console. Sure you can risk everything and take apart the PS3 to clean the inside but after running this trick you probably won’t need to.

Here’s how you activate the console’s in-built cleaning functionality:

  1. Plug in your cleaned PS3 from Step 2 – You need to power up the unit to make this work, so return it to its normal home or bring the plug over to your cleaning space.
  2. Make sure the power switch on the PS3 is off – The unit needs to be fully powered down, not just in standby.
  3. Turn on the power switch while holding down the Eject button – the system should fire up and you should hear all the system fans come on at once.
  4. Wait for the system to return to “Standby” mode – If you did this correctly the unit will blow out all the fans for about 10 seconds before going into standby mode.

Once you’ve done this process your PS3 should be fairly dust free on the inside. You can repeat the steps a few times just to be extra sure.

Hi guys,

many would say "WTH is this guy talking about"...well, from my experience most of local gamers experience lag online play, this is most likely caused by limited connection due to the use of Modem/Router...~ in order to eliminate/minimize this, you need to forward your PSN ports...

Since most of us provided with Ridger Wifi/Modem, here's a quick step on how to do the ports forwarding:
Check list:

1. Defaul Gateway, Static ip, Net mask, DNS (streamyx default: 202.188.0.133, 202.188.1.5)
2. PSN Ports TCP: 80, 443, 5223
                  UDP: 3478, 3479, 3658 (Voice application)
3. DMZ ip setting
4. UPnP enable

for further detail please refer to the attached file:

[attachmentid=1912843]
[attachmentid=1912900] ~Please ignore the 'OPTIONAL' part at the end..too lazy to redo the guide tongue.gif

hope this helps, glad to share it with you guys  biggrin.gif

hi all,

i have 2 noob questions to ask. my ps3 it's 80gb version.

1) what is the correct way to turn off the console? power button or in xmb?
2) what is the maximum hours turn ps3 on or play games? not until console temperature hot or hardware burn
*
i tot no one shutdown their PS3 from the power button...normally i exit to XMB..then press the PS button on DS/Move..then select Shut Down

i tot someone already ON his ps3 more than 24H before hmm.gif i never exceed more than 12 H..no time to play
