well yesterday played ps3 phat 40gb @GamesMonster Open House at Cyberjaya ... been playing on it for more than 12hrs+ so far so good... playing games like fifa11, F1, Castlevania etc...

hdmi (digital) and vga (analog)  two different thing

it won't work with ps3, like ffrulz said earlier abt hdcp.

because of HDCP that cable won't work on ps3, just like shah said.

even tried component cable, PQ not so great and screen-tearing on games...

still HD is the best PQ using hdmi

If the cable method don't work, then only have to get the HDTV. Anyway, cable is much cheaper than HDTV

actually i was thinking of plugging the vga side of cable to HDTV (since most hdtv has VGA slot) and HDMI end to ps3 end...coz i read that's how to reduce input lag which is inherent in most HDTV...oh well, since no such method to connect ps3...i guess too bad...live with the lags...

Thanks all... i think the pioneer system got HDMI OUT only and does not have an out. This optical cable, what kind of cable is this? DIGITAL? and when it is connected, what mode do you put on your pioneer system? LINE1? because what is happening now, i have HDMI OUT from pioneer system to LCD tv. So i dont think i can set the PS3 to pioneer through HDMI.

you can set ps3 to output hdmi (audio+video) to the lcd tv, then you can plug in those pc speaker system to the lcd tv... it has LINE OUT from the tv (back of the tv usually).

There's no need to use the headphone jack.

red circle is optical toslink output and coaxial output and the blue circle is audio out ..none of them is the audio input

PS3 is audio out.
Your mobo is also audio out.

Out and Out obviously means that it won't work.

not to brag or anything but im really good at FPS games on the PC such as Call Of Duty. but when it come to playing it on the PS3, using the friggin' joystick, boy do i SUCK.
i usually play COD at cyber cafes. as you know, to upgrade your PC is sooo expensive. so i have a PS3. and i really wish that i could play FPS on the PS3 using a keyboard and mouse.
well i've tried connecting my keyboard and mouse to the PS3 but failed. i came across a few articles on the web saying that PS3 could support mouse and keyboard unlike the XBOX. but so far nothing.

i got an audio with BD movie / games..but why if change the audio setup in BD movie (Avatar) to DTS, there is no sound?

okay... Avatar BD movie audio track is 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio... its way different than normal DTS

anyway what is ur ps3 sound setting? since there's bunch of options related to optical...
