QUOTE(fluene @ Dec 22 2010, 04:52 PM) Thank you very much for the COD this morning. You are the Santa Claus of the day but Christmas comes early this year (at least for me). He he!! well..I kinda need help in this as well..I am still reading..the solution from the internet but so far...i haven't try yet ...not even register my kindle...Still trying to work out on how to use the Kindle. Got some questions here though (sorry if this is already mentioned in the thread). 1) How can we download /purchase e books from Amazon if we do not have US add or IP? Read somewhere that it can be done through VPN but I don't know how to do it. 2) Once we added the ebooks to our collection, they are still listed in the homepage. If we remove them, will it be removed from our collections as well? I see that there are lots to uncover from the Kindle. It will take time but it is also important to use it at its full potential. If not, it would be like having two horses pulling a ferrari. Thanks!! |

hi havocx is me again if you still remember me..just wondering could I use the power socket to charge instead USB...kinda slow...and I notice the power adapter stated
input 100V - 240V output 4.9V seems it is able to take on Asia Vol. by the way..do anyone know how to disable the Kindle 3 index? I had been google around and they are talking their own language.. This post has been edited by jimmy_none: Jan 23 2011, 08:59 PM |

no no...I meant when you transfer books to kindle, kindle 3 will do indexing on the book...so it takes a lot of battery and time to index...

QUOTE(fluene @ Jan 25 2011, 12:19 PM) What is indexing? How do we know the Kindle is done with the indexing? if you don't understand with the link given...is normal...even I don't understand...haha...some ppl said using the debug Mode might damage the device...but that's the easiest way to turn off the indexing...I wonder if we can use commercial mini USB cable on the Kindle? Indexing is like computer index...each time you put a book into Kindle 3, kindle will then go through the book and create the keyword/index which will be used when you use the search function... To check if the indexing is complete, try to search. Any keyword will do.. e.g. aaa.. if the result returns "Yet to index" means some books still indexing.. of course this will use a lot of battery...so is a good idea to leave it charging till is fully index...depending on how many books you insert, it might take up to more than a day.. There are some occasion that the indexing keep running (as in infinite loop), this is cause by a book or few books that is corrupted and Kindle having trouble reading it. Best you remove those books.. |
