Hi I've wanted to ask how will the books with colored pictures being displayed by the Kindle? One of the book I can think of is "The Digital Photography Book" which is colored and available in kindle version as well.

It would be sweet if you could display some samples of it cause I'm on the edge of getting one soon =)

Wow really appreciate your effort and you even manage to get the exact picture of the book I'm looking for!

It looks pretty OK to me, thanks a lot for your time and effort and I will certainly let you know if I want one =D

The reason I wanna use whispersync is because I plan to read some on PC and I heard it will continue where u left off even if I switch to Kindle. Do PM me the price for Kindle along with leather case. I hope I'll get a good price on the leader case >"<

Moonflown, would you mind asking the queries via the thread ? Itll help with similar questions other folks may have as well. I mean so I dont have to repeat the queries You understand right, if i reply all queries via PM, i may have to repeat it over and over

Can you also later paste your query on the thread all the same ? Ill reply your query here too and paste the answer on the main thread later.

Answer from bro havocx

Nope, havent tried.
Reason : Dont have a reason to. Amazon Kindle takes PDF files directly without the need for conversion. Unless of course you somehow want to convert .PDF to .mobi. Ill need to try that out and report back. But really, Kindle has a capacity of 3GB free space for MP3 and other ebook files. PDF files display as how it is, only in black or white.

======================================

Yea I know but some pdf are way too small to be viewed with pdf format directly without conversion. They need zooming and scrolling around =)

Right missed your question here since i was replying to your question earlier.
1. Ebooks delivered to your Kindle from Amazon account is free. Ebooks from other sites should be copied manually into the Kindle. Some books may not display correctly hence you want Amazon to convert them for you, hence you then should use Amazon's service in which there is a fee for that. But there is no need to go through the trouble now is there, since you can use online converters for free just by googling it and then copying the files directly into your Kindle using your USB cable.

2. This is the second question involving Calibre. In truth i have never and may not use Calibre at all. Since you can already copy manually files into your Kindle.
But the answer to that is clear now isnt it ? Can your computer receive new email if its not connected to LAN, 3G  or Wifi ?  Can your phone receive SMS if there is no sim card ? nod.gif

From what I know is that Amazon only charges conversion fee if you're using 3G to receive their converted files. Else it would be free from what I found =)
