Hey I'm almost 90% interested...but just want to know about the battery maintenance here in Malaysia, I've read a review here AMAZON KINDLE REVIEW that says ( I quote below),

"After a year or two of moderate use, the battery will start to lose its ability to hold a charge...To replace Kindle's battery, you must ship your Kindle to Amazon. Amazon's customer service told me that they ship you back a DIFFERENT kindle (though the same model as yours) with a new battery inside. I really don't like this, at all."

Is there any way we could solve this as they don't ship it to Malaysia so I don't know if they do it for this purpose either...

Sounds good so far...err are you intending to get the cover as well? looking at the image above it sure looks really damn thin & fragile..

Yeah you're right the cheapest cover price from Amazon is almost $35 USD (RM108)...guess I could find some compatible covers here...

I was considering the iPad before Kindle actually and I've heard that reading from the iPad or tablet PCs is almost the same as reading from your PC monitors for long hours...unless if you don't intend on doing the actual "book reading activities" then it's ok I guess..

Once arrived here, what courier service you're using to send to the buyer's home address?...I don't know if Poslaju is that reliable though as they will be sent by the normal postman on his motorbike here (Perak)...can't imagine what the Kindle will go through...

Well for me I don't mind spending a bit more as long as my purchase arrived in good quality as expected..no use paying lesser price only to find out the recurring charges for maintenance, bad quality etc...just my 2 cents..

Oh I forgot to ask about the power adapter, do I need to buy the UK spec (3 pins) for it?...I read that the order comes with a US version (doesn't fit here in M'sia)...

I know but based on some of the users' review it does a good job for Kindle 3!...as long as you don't require a snug fit case & use it only for protection & mobility then I think it's ok...you can read some of the reviews here: Customer Reviews

I think I'll stick with the Belkin case despite its extra size...looks more sturdy & no straps attached...

Just to share to anyone who has yet to buy this Kindle, I've received mine yesterday from havocx via COD at Ipoh and believe me this Kindle is amazing!

I really thanked havocx for a 5 star service from the start of my enquiry until the day it came to me becoz without all of his continous support, advices & infos I don't think I'll be able purchase it safely & exactly as I imagined..
This is not to 'bodek' him ok but trust me, you can ask other succesfull buyers as well & I can guarantee they'll say the same...
I'm not the kind who'll buy anything online with large cash amount at risk so thank goodness it really paid off...

As for the Kindle, the whole package is beyond my expectations especially on its screen & new e-ink technology which I never thought was so 'book-like'. I was expecting another of those gadget that's either a mini remake of the iPads, or another hyped up ebook reader with those typical LCD screens..but I was wrong! Kindle 3 is on a class of its own...

I was so impressed yesterday that I shockingly made another order..hehehe..

Well if you want more detailed description you'll just have to buy it to see for yourself...pity this is the last bulk...
