QUOTE(akubeejays @ Nov 3 2010, 12:53 AM) My inside info says they won't launch until January... But if they can settle somethings it might launch in Dec... Their exact words last month when maxis and digi launched was either Q4 or Q1 .. recent chat was more skewed to Q1... Apparently its going to be packaged differently .. not sure how though.. If they are smart then just sell it at retail price with some free broadband, and airtime credited monthly and go chase the students who just got their loans or scholarships kekekekekek ... no one change line because want the free airtime every month (students la) I tested out torch last week before the launch... i hated everything about it LOL No problem with my wifes then again she has been at home for the past month (just gave birth) we haven't really "field tested" it yet .. I think in general celcom's network has been problematic lately... even some internal staff are complaining LOL hi all... which means it is still okay to use celcom postpaid with Ip4..?? i just bought one from M but i still want to use celcom line...

My Admin colleague just contact our Celcom Account Manager querying about the IP4 release exact release date as he previously mentioned that it going to be in November 2010. Now the AM said that the IP4 release has has been deferred to January 2011.

i just got myself an ip4(came from digi package) and using celcom 3g postpaid now. I have unlimited data usage for celcom now and when i put in the micro sim into the phone everything seems to be ok. I can even use my 3g to surf now when i turn on the 3G and Data usage at the network setting on my ip4.
What i really want to ask is do i need to do any settings when using celcom 3g for data/internet usage? i am reading the past post and it seems you guys say need to put APN as "celcom3g" as for my current iphone4 setting which came from digi originally has nothing there. not sure if i need to do any settings or not before using 3g data.
Is it just plug and play or must some setting be done for celcom 3g on ip4?

The APN setting is only for mms services which we rarely use now since everyone owns a smartphone and can just email or whatsapp photos Added on November 4, 2010, 4:53 pmQUOTE(elainor @ Nov 4 2010, 03:19 PM) hey guys anyone using celcom braodband plan in ip4??im using the 5gb package and its kinda slow...suppose to be around 3.6mbps but then my ip4 only show like around 50kbps per second... It depends on your location. If there are a lot of users then the bandwith is congested and your connection will drop to Edge. Even if it doesn't drop it will still be slow. Miss the good old days of 3G when you can even run torrents at full blast! This post has been edited by gyver: Nov 4 2010, 04:53 PM

I heard Celcom is about to offer some discounts on their data plans. Should be good news for us iPhone users who are using Celcom.
Details should be out this week according to someone in the know. So I'm just gonna sit still and wait for it!

Ok, my friend, whom currently a Celcom staff told me that Celcom will provide iPhone package. This is what been told to him from his boss, after an adhoc meeting. He say, Celcom can't stand to promote Blackberry only, bcoz a lot of Celcom users have been ported to other telco, just to get the iPhone. But on the side note, he said his boss did mentioned that the package will not be offered in the nearest future, and the date of Celcom iPhone Package to be released still unconfirmed yet. So, stay tune guyz.

This is kinda like Celcom telling people (his staffs) that we WILL have iPhone in the future, no further info If you are still willing to wait for Celcom, maybe hope for iPhone 5

@nabielz that's not acceptable. Apple expects Celcom to be a full partner. so if Celcom wants to create a special plan for their own iPhone-using customers... Celcom can go ahead... obviously they don't care. if Celcom wants to be an iPhone partner, they'll need to step up

Celcom is having problems on the package to bundle. They need to be at par or better than DiGi or Maxis promos. This is what taking them so long to figure out - my guess. I personally use Celcom more than 10 years. Still keeping the number under prepaid now. Waiting for Celcom iPhone promo anytime. But for now, I am under 2 years contract with DiGi iPhone plan with a very nice VIP number. Although ppl still call my 019 line, it will be automatically forwarded to my DiGi line. I just need to inform the caller that I'm using new number already.
I hope after my DiGi contract is over, I can port to Celcom or use back my old 019 number. But my DiGi VIP number is so so nice. Targeting for iPhone 6 under Celcom package/promo.

@deepan84 please quit whining. Celcom has never officially said anything about iPhone4 ... so what do you mean 'first they say oct,... etc'? they didn't say ANYTHING!
obviously we Apple fans are not important to Celcom. iPhone has been available in Malaysia for 2+ years... SEKARANG baru nak offer plan? nampak sangat Celcom angkuh! even though Celcom has some very very good people (I seriously respect their tier2 support people. no matter how complicated, they can sort it out) ... I will probably not use their services until they partner with Apple. Its like partnering with Koenigsegg when Ferrari is selling 1000 cars per day !

I have successfully ported from Celcom to Maxis, this morning going to collect iPhone from Maxis. Too bad Celcom does not have iPhone. Being a long time Celcom user for more than 10 years, it is sad.
Well Sayonara for now. If Maxis gives me problem, I will be switching back.
