QUOTE(bizness @ Sep 26 2010, 08:47 PM) They will only start selling without contract when there is enough stock for them to sell it out.. That's true but depends on the customer's condition as well. I have a pal working there and she said they follow rank or how long have you been a user of Maxis. Thanks |

Since no official statement from Maxis on Prepaid plan, each store seems to change and give out their own T&C.

QUOTE(MiniYoshi @ Oct 2 2010, 12:22 AM) Hmm, I got a feeling that Maxis is "controlling" the number of 16GB and 32GB to be sold daily by each centers. Personally, I don't think they have "out of stock" situations, well, not so soon anyway. The last time I went to The Gardens, I saw the Maxis personnel moving to and fro from the registration counter, to a room on the far end of the shop and coming out with the phones. I think they have stocks stashed away in each center's store and not visible to customers. Of course they're controlling and it's a part of marketing strategy. Besides, the reason why the white iPhone was delayed is that Apple haven't finish the mass production of the black. I wonder if coming in early for the '20 units for lucky birds' only applied to Maxis stores in KL or other state regions as well?Think about it... if there is a long queue every morning at every Maxis centers, and from the thread postings above, everywhere is out of stock for the 16GB, don't you think Maxis should have put up a quick notice or at least inform people in queue about the situation earlier, rather than telling them only when the center opens for business? Am sure there would be agitated customers when they get such treatments. And now, postings mentioned that 16GB is available already? Just curious, did anyone see Maxis personnels carrying boxes of iPhones into the shops at all? Trying to prove my theory... This post has been edited by Mike3300: Oct 2 2010, 12:32 AM |

QUOTE(miuk @ Oct 2 2010, 12:56 AM) i came this morning n took a queue number. Had some problems with my supplementary line so have to come back at night. Overall finish buying in 20mins. Definately u can purchase outright phone. The staff say can. I suspect Gardens have lots of stock actually. Maybe it's their marketing strategy to keep the craze alive? Also to control the mysterious number of units that they have so it doesn't run out quick. |

QUOTE(jenzz @ Oct 3 2010, 11:12 PM) Most of them are lying of the same 'no stock', you have to create a scene. My friend went early in the morning, they told him no stock. He got dissatisfied and shouted at the staff, then the staff got him not just a unit but two on that day. |

There is a reason on why Maxis separated plans for each specific devices, those plans go well with the device.

Some are just having their luck of the day while some are getting their iPhone due to early booking of the unit. This coming from an insider friend of mine, they have a small amount of unit for standing by but you won't get to buy those.

QUOTE(an2kecik @ Oct 8 2010, 06:10 PM) is it possible for me n my gf to buy 2 units of ip4 (idata plan) while stick with our ivalue+family plus plan? You might want to consider Contract Upgrade options, which requires face to face for better explanation on how it actually works or just buy outright. Subsidized prices are only for iValue or iData plans for iPhone.thanks |
