@wenshao88,
Lol... but it's so true hence the importance of buying the phone when it's initially launched; to maximise its lifespan tongue.gif

@arjenayai,
Most prob. It's dependent on the system Maxis uses. Best U clarify and check with them but there's a high chance Visa/MasterCards will be accepted.

I already called the CS thrice, and all of em confirmed that even previously under contract user is UNABLE to purchase the iPhone outright without bounding to the contract. No way, they said. So where did you guys get the source that you can get a non-contract iPhone during the launch?

@Xaphier,
That is right - that's also the information I got. Maybe wait it out a little for Maxis to start selling it outright?

Normally sellers tend to refuse Amex card when you purchase electrical item in Malaysia. To be on the safe side,get a secondary card. smile.gif

This is the norm, yes of course you can bring any VISA/MASTERCARD issued by other bank, they will swipe the whole amount and you have to call up your bank to ask them to convert to epp but with interest of course.

I went to maxis klcc today to do a number ownership transfer. Pretty straight forward. Thing is i asked the maxis ppl walking around and the lady who served me ; in a nutshell they said:

If the number you want to link with the contract isn't under your name, good luck!
In other words, you will have trouble signing the contract even if you have an authorization letter and ic and whatever documents unless the owner is present at the launch counter with you. It is also down to luck - they said you can try but there is no guarantee.
