I was keeping my eye on this camera. It looks VERY impressive.
One question though. Can I select my AF point rather than auto AF selection? icon_question.gif

How's the manual focus for this beauty? Or is it AF only?

I'm much of a RAW format user. But does the color in JPEG produce stunning tones that you don't even need to use Lightroom to enhance it? icon_question.gif

So far, well for me, I like to add saturation and blacks, but unedited JPGs are very satisfactory. I'm no pro though. smile.gif

True. Do you feel the Auto WB is a little off though? Just my eyes I guess hmm.gif

Yep, of course, I'd say I have to adjust most of the pictures just a tad. Just like you say. A little off.
*
So how do you adjust them? From PP or in-camera?

Just change the K temperature in WB settings. If not, I just use Lightroom. Most of the time, its Lightroom.
*
Doesn't Temperature control in Lightroom almost useless from using JPEG picture?

Probably, it works for me. Like I said, I'm no pro, I just adjust til I'm satisfied lol
*
Well I'm no pro either. Just stating my opinion, that's all smile.gif

Looks like I'm very much satisfied with the purchase of the X100. smile.gif
The details are staggering! The only disappointment that I really felt for me is the fact that the Optical Viewfinder is lousy when taking in majority of the low light situation which forces me to switch to EVF.
Sort of destroys the whole purpose sad.gif

Nevertheless, it's RM3200 compared to RM5000 (roughly) + the price of the lens for the X-pro-1. smile.gif

Yeah, I end up using the EVF most of the time. Glad you like your X100, I miss mine.
*
Hopefully Fuji's next firmware update is able to improve more of that again smile.gif
Why did you sell it off? sad.gif

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 23 2012, 01:30 PM)
Don't quite understand this part. Why optical viewfinder lousy in low light when its just reflected light?  unsure.gif
*
I'm not entirely sure on this one. It's just disappointing that majority of the AF doesn't hit under low-light situations UNLESS I move back a few feet then it's able to focus.

QUOTE(seech @ Feb 23 2012, 07:35 PM)
I think bcos the OVF depends on ambient light and in low light situations it may be difficult to view the scene whereas the EVF will gain up in low light making it easier to view the scene.

I think....
*
Funny thing is, DSLRs or majority of the cameras that has OVF has no problem in AF under Low Light Situation. :/

Would you guys help me out? I wanted that 'beep' sound from the Auto-focus button. But then I had to turn the 'Operation Volume' up in which there is a click sound at every button pressed during the playback or the menu. Is there anyway that I can have the 'beep' sound and disable the click sound? Very unprofessional question I'd say.

If i recall correctly, u cant.

Obviously i turn down the volume, just enough for me to listen the beep sound. So its less annoying.
*
That's very sad. That menu button sounds are really annoying.

May I ask? What settings in terms of tone, contrast, picture settings have you used on this? The colors, color tone looks nice. So surreal XD

Fuji X100s is a good step for those who are still thinking of buying a good camera without the need of changing lens and zooming in (or out).

i wonder how u guys with x100(im one of u guys) feel about this upcoming x100s. do u really need to wait for it? or better wait for the next model after x100s, by that time i think its nearly perfect. so should i sell my x100 and wait for it? i don't think so. no point going tru all the spec sheet again and again. just go get urself a x100 now and if x100s is really so damn amazing then u can get urself another one. simple as that. i bought my x100 just because it look so damn retro and from then i start learning photography until now.
