Read really interesting things about this camera.
As an ex DSLR user who always wished that I could get good image quality that was less subtle and more compact that wouldn't leave you aching after a whole day of shooting, I was rather interested in this. FlickR x100 pictures are amazing but I have no idea how the AF works on a retro camera like this.
How does it work exactly? I'm guessing that it isn't as simple as half press focus. Is it very manual focus based?

Interesting..
Anyone got links as to how good the image quality actually is for layman portraits? I see alot of amazing landscape shots but little portraits or people shots.
Is the AF that slow lol.

QUOTE(seech @ Jul 3 2012, 09:04 PM) Really nice shots. Though I wish I could see some samples in higher resolution. I bought an iPad 3 so I could put my pictures on it to syiok sendiri. I wonder whether 12MP's is enough. Seeing that I'm coming from a 24MP sensor lol. Is external flash a viable option? anyone using it?

Ah super interested to get it now Was actually planning to get a mid ranged body with good primes and learn how to strobe but realized that I just don't have alot of time to use my DSLR alot if I get one. Too intimidating to bring to college to get good street/candids shots. How long is the normal warranty offered by fuji? Are there any addons (such as filter and lens hood) that are necessary?

Gonna get one as soon as I sell off my current gear for 3.2k. Low compared to RRP, fishy?
Btw, can you manually choose your ISO settings?

Just got the x100 today.
I put in a sandisk extreme memory card and formatted it and tried to paste the .DAT file from the update download site to the card but I can't. Paste option not highlighted. Computer noob here lol, any help?

Updated it already. Thanks!
Now having some issue with parallax while using the OVF to do some close ups. Any way to overcome this other than by using the EVF (which I usually would stay away from)

QUOTE(samsungfreak @ Jul 10 2012, 01:51 AM) There is a setting in the menu (last item) that will show another focus box on the OVF so you now have an "in between" to rely on. Try that. The EVF is dizzy but most people stick to that. Thanks Brought it to college today. Really like it (despite not used to it yet) Took a pic at an accidental ISO 2500, but it turned out brilliant : Green beast by DecQuinas, on Flickr And of course, the colors were great! Dynamic range test by DecQuinas, on Flickr Just need to get a better filter (using a chiplak one right now, wonder if it affects the flare that Fuji lens has) and a strap lol. Feeling really insecure holding it around.

I don't mind. Depending on the time lah.
Really loving the colour reproduction, but having a problem with controlling the RAW filles when it comes to noise control ):
Any idea if its possible to focus/defocus during video mode? Got a class video project coming up and was wondering if the x100 is capable of coughing up some cool tricks

One thing I found out after getting the x100 is that I'm taking lesser shots, but more quality shots. I didn't have time to take too many pictures whilst I was in Cambodia helping out/exploring an NGO there, but I did get a few pics off a tuktuk ride... Heard about the XE-1 and I sold my x100 straight lol.
Really like Fuji.
Nex 6 might compete with the XE-1, but I think Fuji's sensor might just come out on top...
