you shouldn't worry too much about noise. having a super-clean image is only for our own ego.

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Mar 9 2012, 11:36 PM) nono...i havent had a filter yet....cause still waiting my JJC hood post to me it will hit your filter if you don't have the adapter ring. if you search back many many pages back I've a detailed explanation on what works and what doesn't.so now doing research on filter....and did see some people complain that some filters may be knock by x100 lens when close up/macro shooting... since your filter didnt have that problem, can you please let me know detail of your filter and where you buy from??? thanks in advance |

if you want pinch cap with hood, the cap needs to be 52mm.
same with if you want to make a cheap ring to replace the adapter, just get a cheap cheap 49mm filter, take out the glass and mount it terbalik, and you'll have a makeshift adapter that will fit any 49mm thread accessories. or like me, just get a US0.99 cent 52-49m STEP DOWN ring adapter from ebay (free shipping somemore!), and mount it terbalik. and to remove the star effect at lightsource in your photos, under lightroom just increase the clarity setting. |

QUOTE(ricgan @ Mar 25 2012, 02:13 AM) try chk out on lelong.com.my . a seller name newspeed is selling it . or are you interested to get from china ?1pcs around RM30 + RM16(rm10 from china , rm6 for local postage ) postage .arrive within 13 working days , i am ordering , if you want i will post it to you when i get the battery . tips for buying batteryAdded on March 25, 2012, 2:16 am hi , i am gonna order the battery from china RM30 per pcs , +Rm16(RM10 from china rm6 local postage ) . are you interested to get one also ? ![]() according to the battery itself , its a 2600mah , but somehow i doesnt believe on the mah , i think most probably its 1600 or 1800mah only. 1. if it's from an unknown cina-mali brand, it's definitely fake, or can't retain the charge as long as the original. 2. if the capacity from an unknown cina-mali brand is higher than the original battery, AND CHEAPER, it definitely won't retain the power as long as the original, AND it's almost always have a lower mAh rating. check the weight, it should be heavier. that's your best bet. QUOTE(kheng32 @ Mar 31 2012, 11:03 PM) okay that sucks... although the reviews by past sellers are a good indication, you can even buy reviews or positive ebay marks in ebay itself I just bought it from sinceritytrading on ebay. some say he sells genuine cards with true reading/writing speed and capacity, and some say they received and tested those cards are not genuine. i guess i'll just take my RM93 as a gamble la... bought it on impulse without checking throughly there are many fraudulent mem card cases around in ebay. my logic is this: spend 4k on a camera, but wanna save rm20-40 for it to work (for the mem card)............. win? |

meh, no such thing as "overpriced" ler. if i want to sell a water bottle for a million bucks, i can. if you want to pay 2 million for it, you can.
it can (thereotically) be "overpriced" if they set a price, and nobody buys it. but this is not the case. and if it is indeed "overpriced" to you, then you are simply not their market la. so move on with your life already |

QUOTE(leonghan @ May 28 2012, 09:00 AM) Shoot RAW + L consume more battery?? Is it True?? I just did it and found that 2 ori battery can't even cover a day of outdoor shooting....swt~ the bigger the filesize, the longer it takes to copy, thus the more battery power it needs. obviously writing a 30mb file will take more power and longer than 3mb file..... simple wat.i'm worry about that because fren just asking me to help shooting for his actual day wedding and i only have 2 ori battery on hand...this is my first time as well =( Any idea?? L is large size, S is erm... standard i think?
RAW + something is only useful if you want two copies of the same file, one in jpg and another in RAW for further editing. if you use lightroom, it still doesn't support X100's raw file editing. Most of the time I get by with just editing X100 jpegs using lightroom, seems close enough. I don't do studio photography or anything too complex that needs RAW. If the lighting is too dark then maybe I use raw. |

QUOTE(ZzZzz... @ Jun 1 2012, 11:19 PM) 3.4 and below will open RAW files, but there are few things that it doesn't support, or broken. i don't remember the full details, but one thing that i do remember is opening an x100 RAW in lightroom and silkypix and noticing that lightroom will not read the exposure (meaning underexpose the pic). and something about no proper/default/official camera profile for x100. lightroom 3.4.1 and 4 supposedly will/has fix this, but this too i'm not so sure. edit: also remembered something about LR not fully supporting/converting x100's DR100/200/400 setting correctly. although you have to understand that RAW file is supposed to look "uglier" than jpegs since there are no in-camera post-processing (auto brightness or whatever) being done to them. while in certain conditions it's better to have RAW than just jpegs, most of the time i get by with editing x100 jpegs just fine. don't get AA straps imo. many of the leather ones that they have there are of a low quality one. it's durable i must say, but really la you have to spend $$$$$ for something of a high quality version. if so then might as well go and get Luigi's wat.
