all new PSU won't take 600W directly.
It is rated 600W, it will auto adjust to whatever your PC required to run. If your PC required only 400W, then your PSU will only drain 400W. |

bergantung pada hardware ko bro..kalo ko punya hardware takat 400-550 watt jer...so 600watt psu tak la utilized sampai 600watt..jadi ko punya bil tu takat 400-550 watt jer...walaupon ko pakai 1KW psu..tu jer yg aku tau..

normal psu 230 watt kan. bermakna kalau pc guna 400 watt ada perbezaan ke bil letrik.

efficiency usually stated on box.
efficiency will depend on the load vs component quality. |

speaking of which, how can we track our power consumption for our PC? It seems that mine is ridiculously high. My specs are as stated in my signature.

total up the estimated power consumption of the devices, then divide by the efficiency of the PSU (say 80% mean divide by 80) then multiply by 100. :
or if you want it easy. processor max power consumption + GC max power consumption + 150w (enough to cover most items, like fans and drives). after that, divide by efficiency then multiply by 100. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Sep 20 2010, 04:00 PM) total up the estimated power consumption of the devices, then divide by the efficiency of the PSU (say 80% mean divide by 80) then multiply by 100. : OK I have come up with an approximation of 638W under full-load. The thing is, my monthly TNB bill is kind of high. I normally leave my PC for torrenting overnight possibly 15 days in a month. I have calculated that my PC consumes approximately RM80-RM100 of power each month. What I am perplexed is that even though I game occasionally, the amount of power I consuming is almost the same as when I am torrenting. Do correct me if I am wrong.or if you want it easy. processor max power consumption + GC max power consumption + 150w (enough to cover most items, like fans and drives). after that, divide by efficiency then multiply by 100. |

wait. how you get until 638w full load?
GTX 260 is about 182w only. Q6600 is 105 Watts on stock. so you OC, i donno become how much but let's say 130w. that's only 310w. where did you get the other 320w from? |

Zotac GTX260 AMP2 under load is 337W
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/...-216-edition/10 Q6600 OC to 3.2GHz is assuming 130W on 3.2GHz 337+130+150 (Peripherals) = 617W Correct no? |
