What do u guys think about this:
For me, Rooney is the type of player who needs to have that fire boiling inside him. The lack of this fire recently may be due to more than just his personal life problems. It may be that he is just growing up. His temperament becomes more sedate, and it effects his play but he doesn't know why. See his World Cup performances for example.
You see, rooney is not the best at holding up the ball, he's not the quickest in turns, he's not the sharpest in passes, he's not the best at running past defences. But he always made up for it with his never say die attitude, which results in the occasional brilliant move from himself. In short, he's brilliant because he tries harder than anyone else on the field. But other times, his skill looks quite ordinary.
If that is the case, Rooney might never recapture what he once had, nor be able to live up to his potential.
by your definition , it's call overburnt but by my reckoning , Rooney should have 3 more years of good football left in him .
he may have turn up too early as he scored a fantastic goal for everton against arsenal while still age 16 and eversince , the spot light is always on him. then he sign up for United at age 18 and score a hattrick on his debut and the expectation keep growing whenever he was call for club and national duty.
he could have peak last year just before the injury against Bayern Munich , QF of champions league and soon after he won the player of the year award. his goals contribution last season before the injury was unbelievable.
he must have little motivation left in him as he has won almost everything so either he's too stress up or just for some small celebration , he go visit chicken den ( can't really blame him with all the money he had and at his age and peak performance too) but all that was left of him now is ........................
