My goodness, the last time i remember talking about Voyager1 or 2 was in school. I found it fascinating to think that a spacecraft was flying though space sending information back to earth (of course in the head of a young girl that 'information' was obviously pictures as if they were taken out of a low flying airplane window showing trees and such on distant planets) and would keep going for (what seemed like) forever.

Makes me quite sad to think of it slowly shutting down bit by bit. I think i get a little too emotionally attached to technology (and subsequently tend to anthropomorphize excessively).

Interesting thought though, did a quick search and didn't find a real answer from what i could tell: Is Voyager1 still communicating with earth and if so how?
I would assume radio waves, but wouldn't there be a huge (like years and years long) lag with it being so far away?

like what I said from the documentary that I watch, they perfrom this search for places that mimic environment on other planet looking for life and they found it.

1) extremt cold places in deep water.... -40~60C
2) extreme hot places near valcanic activities

sadly, Voyager didnt have enough tools to hop on titan and drill through the thick ice surface.

P/S regarding roswell incident, suprisingly, US president announce that they found an unknown spacecraft after the crash but retracted back the statement and claim it was a weather baloon... do you believe it?

and what would happen IF tomorrow obama announce that aliens live among us

as if NASA are willing to post their latest and top secret finding on wiki

Was it one of the series by Steven Hawkins on Discovery Channel (i think it was Discovery). I think there were only 3 in the series, 1 was 'Aliens', 1 was 'Time Travel' and the last was 'Everything' (Theories about the big bang, what will happen at the end, the possibilities for us to do deep space exploration/populate new planets).
All of them were really interesting and explain the main theories and ideas on each topic in a easy to understand (but not mind numbingly stupid) way.

The one about Aliens discussed the possibility of life on Titan in quite a lot of detail. It explained that aliens could be living in a totally sealed off sea under the frozen surface of Titan (they estimate that the surface ice is 11miles thick). It was previously though that the entire moon was ice, however then a new theory came about that because Titan's orbit is egg shaped, the gravitational pull from Saturn causing it to stretch and shrink constantly. They theorized that this stretching and shrinking would create enough heat to melt a decent sized ocean under the surface where life could have formed and may be very similar to our deep sea life.

Thinking about it i don't think it was the same one. But still very very interesting none the less.

*warning: silliness to follow*
@teongpeng - That's because this is the internet and we all know there are no girls on the internet. It is statistically more likely that i am in fact a 13 year old boy, or a 47 year old boy. In truth though i am an Alien tongue.gif .
