Hi any one tried porting over the latest V52 firmware to C60 firmware based on PNHT.

http://pnht.org/?p=457

i tried yesterday but couldnt work....the phone just could not start up .. i had to reflash to original firmware
*
i'm using it right now...
flashing is just straight away... no hassle at all...

download 6 files from pnht and flash using it directly...

got some bugs...
contact bar can't add contact to it, if add then it wont appear and contact is also missing from phonebook...
'camera in use' pop up if delete captured picture immedietly, need to wait for a few seconds before deleteting...
battery last shorter than ori firmware...

but overall compared to ori 5800 firmware is better... rclxms.gif

mind to ask... how to open flash file in e:/others folder?

in 5800 ori firmware there is gallery - other media - my flash files is here...
in c6 cfw there is no gallery loh... then how to open those swf files instead of using file manager...?
btw, contact bar bugs taht i mention earlier, is not really a bugs icon_idea.gif , it is just me didn't read the instruction carefully... rclxub.gif

now the contact bar problem is solve...

the instruction in expertester blog is for 5800 cfw...
that is why he said need to download ori firmware first, coz cfw is consist of 2 or 3 files only... then mix the cfw with the ori fw to complete the files needed to flash...

i failed to flash my phone 3 times by reading his blog...

but after reading pnht forum throughly, then i realised the different step in flashing cfw... the reason that i failed is that i used c6 cfw and mix up with ori 5800 fw... lol, lucky me, my phone can't boot 2 of 3 attemp, the third attemp success to boot, but the firmware is ori one instead of cfw...

for those who using c6 cfw, usually there will be 6 files provided and flash using those 6 files directly... no need to replaced any files or rename any files too...

what is this brick mean actually...?

does it means cannot boot to homescreen?
or cannot boot at all?
or its just vibrate without showing nokia logo?
or the phone is totally useless just like it got no battery inserted...?

my phone cannot boot means i dont see a nokia logo, the phone vibrate a moment as usual and the screen light up, and it stay like that until i remove the battery... is that is considered as brick...?

to resolve that, i just flash the phone with ori firmware, and its back to live...

this is how i do it...

first, i uninstall ovi suite (only if you edi have it in your pc), then install jaf, replace the .ini files and create shortcut for pkey (set compatibility to win xp and start as admin if you're using win7) then install back the ovi suite ( this is to make sure that the cable driver is up to date, we need the driver that provided with ovi suite, or else the flash won't go well, the driver provided by jaf installer is not working for me...)

second, i down load the cfw from PNHT... also download navifirm to get the ori firmware, just in case if the flash isn't go well, you can reflash with ori firmware...

third, put all 6 of cfw files in C:/program files/nokia/phoenix/products/rm-356 folder... nooooo need to replaced any files or added or mix up or rename or anything, just put the cfw files in this folder...

then this the important step...

start pkey,
click go,
click ok at box driver bla bla bla,
click at bb5 tab and do this in order...
- tick normal mode
- tick dead usb
- untick crt 308
- tick use ini
select rm-356 nokia 5800d-1 xpress music...............,
click ok,
click flash,
click yes at warning box bla bla bla,

now switch off your phone and connect using usb cable and press the power button for 1 sec only...
then the jaf will detect your phone and start the flashing process and wait until it stated done...

btw, i didn't format my mcard during flash process and some of the apps in mcard is working, most are not... need to reinstall, and please set your message storage in mcard, and copy all contacts to mcard (dont use a backup/restore in file manager, but use a copy option in contacts) after your phone is fully startup (done installing everthing and in idle state) copy back your contact from mcard to phone (also using copy option in contacts)... dont restore a previus setting or files (if you make a backup)... as for me messages and contacts is all i need, and i got it all in mcard edi...

now youre done... rclxm9.gif
