wow I actually just realized about this group..

This is cool nice guide there.. bravo.

Anyway there is some question i would like to ask.. >< hope you guys can help me out on this.

Recently i just bought a Nokia 5800.

Can anyone of you here teach me on how to install the application, themes as well as games in Nokia 5800?

Is it a must to use PC suite to install? or i can just put the installation file in to the memory card and activate the installation in phone?

Does this goes the same for themes and games?

I have tried to look for guide on this but couldn't find a proper one.
I hope i can find the correct way of doing it, so that i wont crash my phone. doh.gif

thanks in advance. blush.gif

@eddiez, the installation just like u're installing app in ur PC. Only the file type was in .sis or .jar mostly rather than .exe nod.gif Copy the file into ur phone memory card (better put in specific folder), when finish just find the file in ur phone and execute it. That's it biggrin.gif
*
oh i see.. means there is no need to have pc suite right?

another question is... those installation comes with what type of file?

only .sis , .jar ? is there any other that is compatible for nokia 5800?

i saw once it is in .wgz file.. but not sure is it compatible for the phone.

sorry for asking such dumb question ><

I never install with the files extension .wgz. Where you got it? Did it said that it is meant for Symbian?

Other than the .sis, .sisx or .jar file extension, i never install any other file extension in the Symbian OS.
*
oh.. i got the .wgz through some forums..

yea this is what i am currently doing too.. i only install file with .sis or .jar..

QUOTE(gogoman86 @ Dec 10 2010, 11:39 PM)
*.WGZ is a Symbian60 installer if i'm not mistaken... mostly used on N97 and C6 for widget apps
*
oh i see.. thanks for the clarification.

It looks so cool with the phone that hacked and modded.. but i am too afraid to do it by myself. doh.gif
I am bad in doing this all stuff.. sweat.gif

hey guys, i am here again.

i am wondering Nokia 5800 support which type of video file?

so far, if i am not mistaken it supports .mp4 and .3gp ?
I tried to put in .rmvb but end up i only heard the sound of the video.

What other video file do it support? possible to have 3rd party application to supports other video file such as .rmvb or .avi ?

I tried google, but everyone is giving different ans. So hope that over here i am able to get some firm answer. =)

the best is still convert the video file u wan to mp4 format, its not true tat all type of video can be play on the phone, (like mkv,avi is not able to play using the default realplayer app), otherwise try "SmartMovie" applications, it can play avi file format but the program abit buggy, after sometimes the sound will be not synchronize with the video
*
Thanks for the info. I do think about converting video files in to mp4 format.

What my concern is, i am worry that the video file will be corrupted as in sound is not synchronize with the video.
Did you experience this before after converting a video file?

Maybe it is because of the software that i used to convert.

anyway, thanks for the tips. smile.gif

using the default realplayer i don think will be any problem as in synchronization between audio and video, i only experienced those trouble when in SmartMovie application...so far i never encounter any problem with all the converted video in my phone icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the feedback. =D

btw,

may i know what does CFW stands for?
Besides that, is there an apps that allow me to do drawing like paint on phone? =p
because since our phone is equipped with stylus, it will be great if we can use it for drawing.. draw for fun. =D

~CFW stands for Custom Firmware, they normally use the term "cook" which mean making ur own firmware...normally CFW is much better in    performance as in CPU speed, memory space and lot of cool effects on ur phone. I am using a 5800-c6 CFW which is more better than our original firmware =).

~ For the paint application, try Zensis PaintPad it has quite alot of tools that is similar to our computer paint software
*
Thanks for the explanation. Seriously i didn't know there is such custom firmware exists.
I am too noob in installing or changing firmware on my phone, worried that i will crash my phone. sigh..

This means i couldn't fully utilized my phone. doh.gif

Thanks for the apps recommendation. This is cool, now i can play with the stylus even more. rclxms.gif

To draw on your phone, use Scribble... it works... or just look around on Ovi store. There is 1 app by OffScreen that does the same thing.

I have some difficulty on using my phone to log on internet by using wi-fi.
I think this is something to do with my house wi-fi modem...

It seems that my phone surf the net very slow, but it is faster when i go to the public wi-fi. (only for phone, laptop is fine)

Hence, this caused me unable to log on OVI to download apps. rclxub.gif

The touch sensitive in CFWv51 seems much better than the original. One heck of an improvement but dunno how it compare to v52 which they said got even more improvement.

my phone is currently using V51.0.006

hey all pros,

i am here again to ask a question..

Recently i put many songs in to my phone, and i realized that to create a playlist is really troublesome.

In the phone memory card, all songs is being separated based on different folder. But when is in the phone, all the songs are mixed up together.

Then i will need to create playlist and add song 1 by 1 from all the song list.

so i was thinking, is there any better way to create playlist? I have over 400 plus of songs in the phone, and it is really troublesome for me to add in playlist one by one.. >.<

any idea of solution for this matter?
