Usually the average hour for human to sleep is 8 hours.
But is it possible to train to just sleep 3 - 4 hours a day without causing side-effect???

I think the amount of sleep varies along with age.... Old people tend to sleep less... or they just couldn't sleep  hmm.gif
I would say 6-7 hours daily is the minimum amount of time for resting (for adults)... too little sleep will render the brain rather.... "restless"  (tried before, very steam) laugh.gif
3- 4 hours would be okay as long as its not for long-term... you may need to "re-sleep" back the hours lost to be able to prevent from being too exhausted nod.gif

Yes, it depends on age and usually old people tend to sleep a lot less.. but why old people sleeping pattern change?

during my previous reverse military training, we were forced to sleep for 3-4 hours a day yet we feel as alert as ever... due to constant pushing from instructors

P/S just my hunch since I`m not from bio or medic background tongue.gif

I've heard it's possible to train sleeping hours but don't think a person would want a constant pushing from instructor (e.g. water splash, loud noise, got beat up, etc...)
Guess your training has turn you into an alert person which is a good thing... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
