Bring along your bank in slip.

If possible, print out whatever online correspondence you had with him.

You said he sent you an empty box ? Might be worthwhile to bring the empty box to the police station as well. The seller might have left some prints (if the prints have not deteriorated).....but I doubt the police will go the extent of searching for prints on the box.

Some one posted earlier that this is a commercial case and not a criminal case. Well this is a criminal case buddy, it falls under "cheating" of the Penal Code.

BTW, I'm from Kedah too...but in Alor Star. Too bad Kulim is far away, if not I could assist you.

Since you guys has his account number and name why didn't make a police report? I'm very sure the police will go to the bank or bank negara to locate his address and him as well.
Cheating means CBT..so you should know how heavy can the penalty be. And cheating means committing a Crime.
Anyway, do a search at sellers profile before you part with your hard earn money, unless its a COD transaction.

he called me yesterday morning.. saying that he has an iphone 3g which i posted on lowyat.. so he said that he got my num from there.. so i said ok to him and we continue to chat in msn... he named himself nicholas then. after making the deal. i agreed for postage. and he insisted me to pay half of it.. so i banked in rm350 in his acc num 158145 723677 maybank.. afte i bank in he said he will give me the tracking num in a while but he switch off his hp.. but now his hp is on but not answering my calls... his num now is 0164660396

i'm from kulim kedah. if u got his address i can go scout and snap picture,,

pay attn to the replies by new members wit 0 posts n who only join recently.

do u get his new nick name? or he just direct call/sms u from his number? u r easy victim mate by opening a WTB thread.. somemore an apple stuff.

And why wait? this is a proven conman. Lodge a police report and post your report here asap.

casanoel, i also kena the same thing. He told me someone wants to buy the same phone for rm750. then he said that someone (i think it is you) did not want to buy already. he cheated me rm400.
so long already but police still not yet catch him. cannot find him already . police will just ask you to report for fun.

As far as I can remember.....no one has ever been caught by the police relating to this type of scam...

Yes.. quite true. But you remember the legendary Tempang Guy? he has been caught by police once. And base on rocky88 comment above, Chin Wai Hoe, who said to be not related to CWH at all (claimed from q8_mlk and nielsatan) has been caught by police as well. but i still dont know whether its true or not. Anyway, i still investigate on this one too.
