Hey guys, Was wondering is it possible for my laptop to sync with the Samsung GT so all my contacts and calendar (appointments) will be transfered too... Imagine typing each contact into the SGT, that is a lot of work knowing that I have close to 1000 of contacts to key in. I understand Microsoft Outlook and Android are two different OS platform but is it possible? The Samsung Galaxy Tab promoter at Maxis if of no help so anybody here have a solution to my dilema? Thank you...

Hi guys, Have been using the Galaxy Tab for a week now but only for home use cause still have not purchased the front and back screen protectors. Am having intermittent wifi problems connection. At times, could not connect to my home network, Always scanning and authenticating but cannot connect. Its forever scanning and authenticating-in a loop! Tried Aruja's tip of hard reset *2767*3855#, problem settled but after surfing, syncing contacts to google mail and downloading a few apps (online for a few hours). Once done I will switch wifi off until I feel like surfing again again later (switch wifi back on) the Tab can't seem to connect so I have to manual hard reset again which is really troublesome and tedious cause will need to transfer data back to the Tab manually!... Do I need to send the unit to Samsung service for a full inspection? Anybody? Thank you This post has been edited by rifhamdi: Nov 23 2010, 11:52 AM

Hi guys, There is a new software upgrade (through KIES) for the Tab. After update: PDA: JK2 Phone: JJ2 CSC: JJ2 Was pretty long so pls bear with it. Took me nearly 1.5 hours to complete full upgrade. So far performing well. Managed to resolve wifi connecting problems after sending the unit to Samsung Service this morning. Collected it back after spending 4 hours of troubleshooting. Saw quite a number of Galaxy S owners sending their units in ... Am pretty worried now about the reliability of the brand. Don't know about you guys but this is actually my first Samsung product. Hi guys, I have a Maxis Broadband sim card taken from the USB modem and inserted into the Tab just for data only but i found out that I am able to send and receive sms from this sim card. However, voice calls and video calls are not posssible (disabled) cause the sim is locked just for data use only. Was wondering would I be charged for those smses which I sent out?? Just received my broadband bill but I don't see the 3 smses I sent last month (was just testing the sms feature) being stated. Can we use this sms feature to our advantage? QUOTE(ajay67 @ Jan 4 2011, 11:49 PM) Hi Ajay, Just take out the sim card from the modem and insert it into the sim port of your SGT. Make sure you activate/enable Data Network mode and you are good to go (data transfer)... This is similar to what I am doing too by using the SGT as a data device without the voice (phone) functions though sending and receiving sms is possible from the SGT with a data sim card once you have identified the mobile no (data sim card) Cheers This post has been edited by rifhamdi: Jan 5 2011, 12:06 AM

QUOTE(tplus1 @ Jan 5 2011, 02:13 AM) a question. does the galaxy tab sold in Msia the same in Korea? if so, can i use Msia galaxy tab in korea? I don't know if its the same as the ones sold in Korea but all I know the ones sold by Maxis (the first batch upon launching) are fully imported and made in Korea. Not too sure if they are currently made in China now like most mobile phones these days.

QUOTE(abang brother @ Jan 9 2011, 08:24 PM) Guys i need help~ About the wireless, the tab recognized and remembered the wireless connection just the problem is that when i try connecting it, it will say 'Obtaining IP adress' for a longggggggg time. Thanks a bunch! Yes! It happened to my unit too... No choice but to hard reset the unit by pressing *2767*3855# or under settings menu select privacy and select factory data reset. That should work and your wifi connection would be established again. Downside, all data will be erased except data in your SD card. Took my unit to Samsung Service but technician confirmed there is nothing wrong with my unit. Suspect the apps I downloaded. Upgraded firmware to the lastest PDA: JM4 | Phone: JM2 | CSC: JM1. So far so good... Have not switched off my modem (on 24 hours) that helps too... I know its weird but this is the best I can advise you so far unless somebody else has a solution to the wifi intermittent connection problem. QUOTE(jeremyk @ Jan 9 2011, 10:28 PM) My case - usually the pw is corrupted or changed or wrong. Rekeyed in the right pw usually solved it. Yes, initially thought it was my password too! Re-entered my password but it still looped round and round trying to obtain an IP address... and still got no connection....

QUOTE(rayzrblade @ Jan 12 2011, 04:58 PM) hey guys..does anybody know whether singapore set is under international warranty? not those under telcos ...wanna get one soon.. thanks..if anyone reply. oh..how to check the region that kinda thing? thanks. My cousin works with Samsung Service and he confirmed that SGT is a considered a phone so no international warranty like all mobile phones these days. The serial no and software version determines which region the phone is from. So we were advised not to buy phones from other regions which are not meant for ours so as not to complicate matters in case if you require assistance in warranty issues if it arisses. Play safe he said. This is to prevent Malaysians from purchasing their sets from Indonesia or Thailand which are definitely cheaper than the ones sold locally. Hope this info is useful... Cheers

QUOTE(yoyoan @ Jan 14 2011, 09:53 PM) does these mean that non maxis sets is not malaysian set? I think the units promoted and sold by other Telcos (Digi/Celcom) other than Maxis can be considered original units distributed (stocks taken from) by Samsung Malaysia. Likewise those units purchased directly from Samsung outlets. AP or underwater units does not apply here. Please correct me if I am wrong. Is good for potential buyers to know what they are buying or getting themselves into.

QUOTE(yoyoan @ Jan 15 2011, 12:32 PM) I see some sellers selling SGT at RM 2399, SME set. This means Maxis is ripping us off by selling SGT at RM 2699 outright Not really, because Maxis had the sole rights (for about a month also, if I am not mistaken) to promote, market and sell the Galaxy Tab before other Telcos and distributors could actually get their hands on original units/stocks of the SGT. Most definitely an agreement between Maxis and Samsung Malaysia for the sole rights. Anyway, for RM2,699 it comes bundled with a wireless 3G ZTE camera (SIM card enable/activated) worth about RM900++ as I was told. Still trying to sell mine for RM430. Any takers?
