Don't know want to wait iPad or just buy this Tab from Maxis. When will Maxis launch the iPad? But both are different category for the screen size. Now all is going for Android. But Maxis always lower their price within the same year for a product after launching. See all their iPhones also know

i support Android all the way. They are the real innovator of useful software in human life.

Maxis dropping prices is due to :

1. Apple had drop its price of the 3Gs after release iP4 , so is natural Maxis will have to follow.
2. With a new product in the iP4 it is a natural decison to drop prices so that buyers will select the newer product and budget conscious can get the older model
3. Need to dispose off old stocks of older 3Gs

One cannot catch up with technology. Just look at recent MacBook Air launch last week. Previously the cheapest MBA cost RM5299 and highest end is RM6799. NOW you have a smaller 11.6 in starting at RM 3299 and the highest end RM 5299 ( with options added up to RM5999 ). Best part is, the lowest end 11.6 model even on a 1.4 GHZ CD2 outperforms the older high end 2.13Ghz.

So if ever there is a Galaxy Tab 2 coming up, don't be suprised to see aprice drop up to RM1 k. It is also very probable you will see aprice drop of this Galaxy tab up to at least RM 500 in the next 3 months with newer competition coming up

can AP set service by samsung malaysia?

I think it is possible, subject to the warranty is an international warranty. If local warranty say Hong Kong or Singapore, then you have to bring to Singapore or Hong Kong in case of problems.

But I think Samsung mite be able to service or repair SGT for a nominal fee. I konw this because I bought Samsung Omnia from Singapore and the local Samsung service center will charge me RM 100 for servicing and rectifying the problem.

So, better check the warranty is International or Local.

galaxy tab how many years warranty?

SGT 2 = likely will be out next year. It will be in 7 inch form. Price definately will drop again these couple of months. Current price you pay for SGT is a bit on the higher side for now.

Already the competitors are out...as i'm taking in Archos to Malaysia.

Bringing in to test the market first.

When the goods arrive in Asia under their destributors, the price will be slightly higher.

By then, when you buy the product from Asia, you still have to add the cost of shipping, courier, tax, insurance and transportation..etc. That's why, the price will not be USD 299.


Good example : any products you buy from Ebay...you still have to pay shipping cost, insurance.. Any taxes you still have to cough up to pay local Msian customs/tax..etc...

eh, then how are you going to use the GPS ? looking down on the car mat ?


you can try to put the tablet in front of your steering wheel, in front of the dashboard resting against the windscreen. Put sponge or cloth under the tablet and also the back ....else under the sun, it will be tooo hot...

Ok . . . . . Maxis set out by this week .....Official pricing is RM2699 for no contract and least than 2k for contracts ..... Just got back from Maxis , they assured me will b out by this weekend but the latest will b Monday ....

Yes. Fully available in Maxis centres around 29th October.

Wud suggest buy without contract...better. Unless you dont mind to be tied down on contract..
