What is usb driver or camera kit for?

Are you mistaken with ipad kit?

Bought my Galaxy Tab 16gb and using it for a week

Really like it except that I cant connect USB Driver to it.

I have seen some site stating that USB Camera Kit will be available for Samsung Galaxy Tab, can anyone (Would be better if someone from Samsung Malaysia) confirm this? When is the Keyboard and TV Out cable going to arrive in Malaysia? Would just love to have it

You mean you want the TAB to act as a USB Drive ??

1. On the tablet, go to the Home screen and press the Menu button below the display.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select Wireless & network.

4. Choose USB setting.

5. Select Mass storage.

Now when you attach the Galaxy Tab to your computer, it will show up as a USB drive.

OR is it

You want to access to the SD card , then you don't need a special driver. For USB Mass storage to work, turn off USB Debugging. Just hook it up to the computer, pull down the notification bar, choose the USB connection, and change it to USB Mass storage. The SD card should mount. At that point you can manually move files/ folders on the SD card.

Be sure to properly unmount the SD card before unplugging from the computer. Also you need to change the USB connection back to Charge Only or one of the PC settings before the tablet will recognize it.

For this to work, you should have already installed Android USB drivers : Download the Android SDK at http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html . Select your rom version and the USB drivers. It will auto download and install on your computer

Let me make it clear, I want to Plug pendrive or USB Media such as Hardrive directly to Galaxy Tab via the USB Camera Connection Kit. If you google around you can see that Samsung has introduced their own Camera Connection Kit which is similar to the ipad. And this is the reason I'm asking is it true and where can we get it in Malaysia. This includes the keyboard and TV Out cable as well

Go with the telco that you are using for voice plan. Just add data plan. Save some plan $$$ at least.

I don't need those kits 'cos with my micro SD and adapter, I can just plug into camera or pc for taking pics or transfer files etc ... then just plug the micro sd into SGT for viewing or copy etc..

No need to spend anymore than I already have with the SGT price.

Am sure you can get any bluetooth keyboard.

Samsung has yet to announced when such a USB adapter be available ? Lots of web rumours will be this December. Temporary your best option is to use the microSD to transfer files
And I don't think you can plug in an external harddrive as it requires too much power. On the Ipad this also cannot be done with the standard USB external hard drive, max is only those USB thumb drives.
It has been reported that most Bluetooth keyboards can connect to it - did you try ?

The reason I want the adapter is to connect my work pendrive, it would be really useful for me to connect and attach files for email purpose
I have a Nokia SU-8W Bluetooth keyboard, it can be paired but not connected. Any idea?

Digi also give RM40 rebate for 3 month if you go for the 3 year contract.

Anyway, does anyone know does the Tab sold by Digi is locked for Digi sim card only? I'm asking this because yesterday went to Digi centre to play with the Tab and I want to try the messaging function, so the salesgirl put in my Maxis simcard and to 'our' surprise, no network message appears. Put the sim back into my phone, and it work properly.

Any TAB users not happy with it and would like to try Apple's iPad ( 64GB 3G , 6 months old set) with accessories - PM me. We can swap. Just wanna test it few months and write up a comparison.
Have an hour experience on it with my friend's unit. Initial impressions favorable and would say will not lose out much to the ipad unlike what apple fanboys always like to boast about it
