Im using S530D. I want to have a 5.1 speaker setup (or 7.1 depends on budget). I was just thinking if it is possible to make use my S530D and make it a 5.1 or 7.1 set-up. Can i modify it to be just like that?

I bought Edifier S530d just few months back and for the past few weeks it's been working fine. Only last week, I notice that even though I tun up or down the volume using the wired controller or using the remote controller (while paying MP3, AVI, etc etc), the volume being emitted by the speaker does not change. Even though I mute it, and I play some MP3, there is still a sound being emitted in the speaker (meaning the input shown in the controller is not recognize by the speaker). I am connected to my CPU desktop computer using optical fiber audio connecting table. Below is the specs of my cpu

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: P55A-UD3P
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
-------------
Sound Devices
-------------
Description: Realtek Digital Output(Optical) (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Default Sound Playback: Yes
Default Voice Playback: Yes

thanks...i sent the unit to Edifier already. They told that they will check on it and will get back to me in two weeks time cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

is there a possibility that I can still use the speaker even without the wired controller? two weeks is a long time for me to wait. I have to many movies to watch and music to hear cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Please connect it to a external player like MP3 to test it. If the sound still worst, u can send in the the dealer where u bought and get them to test it for u.
Sorry for the problem cause.
