A match from the GSL Open in Korea..

Round of 64 match 15 between PoltPrime and JangMinChul.. said to be the Asian Ladder Leader at 2000+ points..

I just couldnt believe how fast it happens.. its a must see..


first half of it is mostly commentator ranting.. wait till the end to see the spanking


the second match.. longer but still.. a relatively short unexpected ending..

1. not to break ur bubble but these VoDs are illegal (various youtube channel has been blocked due to this reason) as its copyrighted by GOMtv themselves and u would have to pay for it... the livestream in SQ is free though...

2. game 2 just show how insane marauders drop buildings, nothing spectacular but standard sniping with stimmed marauders. <in b4 nerf rants>

3. slowpoke as today would be day3 for the ro32 (and polt was eliminated in day2 with muledrop and nuke by his opponent LOL)

4. oGs.JangMinChul is known as also IrOn from sc:bw

still, thanks for sharing but as i said, its illegal to post these vods >.<

AFAIK, according to various people even from TL, the VODs are LEGAL AFTER matches have been broadcasted live and ended.

Doesn't explains why various Youtube channels has been blocked from posting VoDs of GSL though

huh.. i was wondering why its hard to find on youtube.. the legality factor could be the issue..

what I liked about Polt was he have strategy.. like distraction and avoiding the main force and hitting where it hurts.. and how he plays differently and does unexpected things..

so he got eliminated later on huh.. I was wondering how he would fare in a longer matches.. I guess not so well.. I'll try to find that match thou..

if they had it shown during live broadcast, then yeah its 100% illegal. though i kinda understand why as the live are sometimes hard to access (kept saying capacity full sometimes) and not to mention, firewalled (or not port forwarded) connections cant access. eg: my office network LOL (need to use my phone as modem to connect)

how can they show them live on youtube to even get it blocked according to ur logic
and TL even restreams it when its illegal LOL (tastosis keep mentioning it during the streams), not a credible source >.<

ps: gomtv stream have the ip which u can just copy paste it into VLC etc...

Illegal or not it is up to Blizzard and GomTV to decide, not you not me, not TL. Apparently, Blizzard and GomTV doesn't like the idea that their VODs being uploaded somewhere else.

Btw it is a great match... poltprime did made a lot of mistakes though.

i wouldnt say polt play well as its actually wut all terran does when they go bioball...
u can see how badly he was rolled in ro32 by oGsTop who sorta BM on polt as payback for eliminating IrOn by throwing in mules and nuking empty spaces when he have the game advantage...

today's game would be tester!!!

noticed that theres 2 parts, people can record the ongoing live and upload say, part 1
and yes i am aware of the IP thingy via TL, doesnt work too for my office corporate network. used it on VLC/WMP/Gom player

youtube uploading is not that fast for it to be 'live'...
it would be technically after the 'live' which u claimed to be legal and thus wont get removed which currently contradicts

tastosis = tasteless + artosis... commonly used shortform for them instead of both names on forums

still, nothing to stop u from sharing it via pm =p

btw: the korean obs is so much better

if ur isp isn't anything in malaysia or 3rd world country, youtube uploading is actually pretty damn fast. heck, uploading videos from my office is fast as hell, however not everyone gets corporate line speeds (our corporate line is like, the normal household line in japan/korea/europe, and certain areas of US)

and yes, if i do understand korean, their commentary (3 ppl, with a girl, aint beating that with 2 american or european dickweeds) much much better. and definitely more professional.

nah u can see tasteless missing so many key moments like last nite's cool's superb baneling ambush that force the GG...
just felt like watching the korean streams at times even if u dun understand it lol...
might do it for tester's game later...

what does muledrop means?

mule drop means mule drop... literally. unless you dont know what a mule is in sc2.

Hmm mule drop = extra harvester for terran? how can that lead to victory

each mule can harvest 5x to 6x minerals more than a scv... each drop means extra 270 mineral in a short time. And, it can stack with a SCV to harvest a same mineral patch at the same time.

or it could mean mule drop to repair mech units, and mules repair faster than scv too mind you, that could potentially make or break a game depending on situation

or it could mean some mule dance

that should be the case for that match i supposed

ya he uses it to taunt polt lol...
dropping 3 mules when polt's units are dying and ending the game wit 2 nukes at the same spot...

zealots dont shoot.

colo's lasers are instant, no traveling.

stalkers get nulified, MM rush colo, takes out colo, proceed to wipe the floor. the end.

hrmm just found out about it on TeamLiquid's Wikipedia about the Point Defense Drone

as Quazacolt said.. it nullifies Stalker damage.. so with PDD, the Stalkers (the only one that can shoot Air units) cant shoot the Banshee, allowing the Banshee to survive and help kill the Colossus

wow tester hold a 2 gate cheese with 1 gate n superior micro...

let me explain this in detail...
to counter MM balls, the toss need to get zealots to tank and sentry to FF and split the army (korean style) or stalkers to dps...
its u need pretty decent amount of zealots...

problem with polt's composition is that the banshee rape any ground units so u need stalkers and sentries to shoot...
but stalkers are costly and the raven's PDD can eat up to 240damage worth of shots from the stalkers thus protecting the banshee (as tastetosis say, banshees are the flying DT due to their dps)...
together with the MMball, polt's army composition just rape the toss's army even with colossus (wut more banshee can pew pew the colossus since its flying)...

match going on and TFM is all over it. i lazy to plug in my modem though XD

well tasteless is still very very new to sc2 and he's the joker compliment to artosis...
he has improve a lot taking lessons from the korean observers etc...

MM kills zealots, raven blocks stalkers from killing banshees with PDD, and banshees focused the sentries, sentrys dead, meaning no FF to block ramp, MM killed everything.

i would not say husky/ hd are good commentator...
they lack the knowledge in the game too much for high lvl plays...
entertaining but not informative...
that's y for MLG they had day9 and wut is the other guy again with em...

btw in ro64 inca did a 3gate in ur base cheese as well

I thought HD Starcraft had a private jet plane to the MLG to do a commentary :S

there's 4 commentators for mlg...
and its not private jet...
day9 flew on first class though LOL

GomTV isn't coordinating well enough with them Artosis and Tasteless... they're just on their own most of the time.
Tasteless might be new in commendatory and not without hiccups but his points are good.
Husky is fun to watch but he lacks of sense in high level games somemore husky isn't casting live games much i think. Casting it live and re-cast as a replay is totally diff story.

if i'm not mistaken the guy that doing day9 is Tasteless brother..

uh ... any of you think that the comentator/caster were a bit rubbish? so boring to listen to. HD and Husky in the HDH invitationals casting was a lot better ... imo.

as far as commentating goes i feel that djwheat is still the best out there...
that guys is pure awesomeness then followed by day9...

ya the coordination between gom and the english team is pretty bad...
tasteless was really famous for casting sc1 games and known as the 'casting archon' for it...
i can see him improving a lot from the day1ro64 till yesterday...
and artosis do provide very good information...

btw its nt ez to commentate live games while trying hard to be the observer for the viewers which is wut tasteless is doing...
artosis get his own free observation to fly all around the map...

just watched TLO vs LosirA.. totally kick ass 4 d 2nd game.. AWESOME..

3rd set is quite epic...

idra failed at scouting in game 3 and bad unit compo...
either he break under pressure or was overcondifent

i believe he was overconfident... and he is c.ocky too...

this match is damn epic... until now i still dun understand how tester manage to get out of the gateway rush...

if what i saw is correctly, the reason tester manage def against the gateway rush is bcoz his zealot and probe kill the solo enemy zealot rite?

if u watched the live stream, they analyze tester's play after the game in slowmotion...
basically tester micro his zealot to draw his opponent's zealot and micro his probes to deal damage on and off...
the zealot he sent to freesaga's base was actually due to the cannon rush he thot freesaga is going but that ended up beating him...
and tester micro a probe to kill another probe on freesaga's base at the same time as well?

now we know where his 400 apm goes to and the famous saying goes "i heard tester beat a grizzly bear and chuck norris with only micro"

you're missing out him using probes to block nex' zealots from killing/damaging his own zealots, thus allowing him to achieve that normally unbeatable odds (1 zealot vs 3 LOL)

ya the probes covering the side of his zealot and freesaga was targeting the zealot...
really like his pylon battle when his cannon is coming up as well..

in reference to TLO match if 1/1/1 built effective counter to proxy barrack is bunker? if yes where to place it? choke or near mineral?
