@ReasonsofThanatos
where you go for bikini shot?? tempting.. biggrin.gif moars pls

@Ah hao
if you prefer small camera, i think just stick to NEX-3 + 16mm
or better still, buy a compact, seriously..
but everything there is trade-off, if want quality, sure quantity($) and size also bigger

Manual Focus, by turning the focus element in order to get image in focus.. biggrin.gif
Curve SS = Sony Style The Curve (sony direct store) where sony center is dealer store

nex use e-mount, optical-stabilize (and thus more expensive i guess) and being compact (without lens)
alpha dslr use a-mount, in-body-stabilize and bulky

prime should have acceptable sharpness at wide-open(biggest aperture) but when stop down a bit will be sharper.. (might be in this case)

perhaps it help

although it might ridiculous, but somehow, some people (generally incompetent camera sales person) they worship CaNikon badly.. i try ask about sony, then i get respond mostly all will say : why sony?? and keep promote the 2 big player..

and is true that majority review tend to bias... so, suggest : go try yourself and only use review as reference, not fact!

@zstan

@Batmaninkl
sorry if i offend you, but if you think videography is far more important, then i think you might be better off with the handycam or any PnS (yes, i quite impress with PnS quality except the depth of field caused by sensor size)

2nd, if comparing a580/60D/A55, personally i will go for A55 (only reason, FAST AF) don't you want your video come out with OOF? and MF is tiring..

lastly.. smile.gif rather than asking recommendation for which still yet to reach camera, why don't wait it release and try it out.. rather "talking army on paper" -- which is not practical & just empty talk..

@mike
NEX use in-lens stabilisation, so i assume it don't have sensor overheat issue..

SLT is SLT, NEX is NEX total different story..
SLT is use translucent mirror..
NEX is without mirror in between..

if i suggest, sure a33 better, regardless on any aspect, except you need an Optical ViewFinder..

no regret i buy F58.. if you save up to buy a brand new F42, you might just try your luck by adding rm50~100 to low-ball some seller for used f58.. XD

SAL =/= manual focus.. provided the camera have in-body screw-drive focus motor..
and so far all sony alpha model have it. smile.gif
the lens don't have motor, but have AF-gear

QUOTE(electron @ Oct 7 2010, 11:02 PM)
errr... i thought SAL refers to Sony's Alpha Lense mount?
SAM means it has a kind of internal focus motor
so all SAM is a SAL lense, but not all SAL is SAM equipped
*
correct

SAM = in-lens motor
SSM = Supersonic Motor
SAL = sony alpha lens

yaya.. smooth auto-focus motor.. but however, still got little sound.. just generally know as in-lens focus motor
SSM is in-lens supersonic focus motor (is fast and quiet)

fluorine coating =
QUOTE(wikipedia)
Some of the most important characteristics of anti-graffiti coatings are:

    * Sufficient adherence without damage to historical buildings
    * Hydrophobicity (water-repellance)
    * Environmentally-friendly composition and processing
    * Resistance to UV aging and weathering

edited: i think it make sense as fluorine coating is use for this purpose, but in lens, not very sure though

@blowsh
SAL70200F2.8G RRP is RM6699
