where did u heard the news from?
i know it's gonna be delayed but i didn't know it won't be launched here

Some forum online..i've forgot the exact site but if you google "sony a560 malaysia" there should be 1 of d post there..

QUOTE(albnok @ Sep 17 2010, 03:09 PM)
mastering89: Yeah I hope so too!

The Sigma 85mm F1.4 EX DG HSM is RM4xxx. Madness! sad.gif

ahpingko: The MSPD was probably pirated. My WX-1 and NEX-5 both say the same thing on an MSPD that works perfectly on my A700 and A900 (because Sony didn't make a big issue about it then I guess.)

You know lah if properly exposed, an ISO1600 shot can be very clean also.

5564321: I wrote a tutorial way back to restore tones in blown colors:

http://www.glaringnotebook.com/default.asp?id=1313

ReasonsofThanatos: It has not been launched yet, but that doesn't mean it will never be launched - the A380 and A500 made it here after all even though they were not supposed to be.

clivengu: Not that hard honestly. The Samyang 35mm F1.4 UMC is a FF lens. Same goes for the 14mm F2.8 and 85mm F1.4, while the 8mm F3.5 diagonal fisheye is APS-C only.

And to think, I used to think the Minolta 35mm F1.4G was a heavy lens, and it was front-heavy (it's fairly long for a prime.)

yuhi: Clean your A350's flash contacts with a blue ink eraser. Turn off and turn on camera and flash. It should be in sync.

Oo...well hopefully we'll see it in M'sia soon..coz im really into this 2 model..i still have doubts on a33 and a55...

ReasonsofThanatos: something u have to learn, there are many jealous fanboy out there, posting nonsense no source or proof speculation in other forum to mislead or spoil sony reputation. pls dont speculate more false info. thank you.

Been to the IRIS 2010 workshop sponsored by Sigma and Low Yat last saturday.

Being the sponsor of the event, there are some lenses from Sigma ready for the participant to test on. There were 85mm F1.4, 50mm F1.4, and 70-200mm F2.8. Too bad there were no Sony mount >.<

I'd say im really impressed by the sharpness of Sigma's 50mm F1.4. Being unable to mount it, I've asked my friend who uses a Nikon D5000 to grab the lens and use it for d entire test shooting of the models and at wide open till F2, the models are pin sharp at the edges and details.

Here's 1 of my better shot (I think ^^,") from the event.

no reflector or flash?

IMO..for the money i pay for the 50mm f1.4..i expect it to be sharp at f1.4 as well...if not might as well i buy a f2 lens... biggrin.gif
*
Yupe, just pure daylight.

But from what I read online, the review of Sony's 50mm F1.4 is a little softer than Sigma's at wide open, but pin sharp from F2.2 onwards..like a direct opposite to Sigma's 50mm F1.4. Though it is relatively more affordable than Sigma's, but as u've mentioned, we expect it to be sharp at wide open as well, for the money we pay..

But then again, a review is a review. We still have to see for ourselves to believe huh.. biggrin.gif

ReasonsofThanatos: Wah nice Sigma 85mm F1.4! I would rather have used that as I've tried the Sigma 50mm F1.4 on A-mount. It is a very nice lens, but the 85mm is the unknown one so far.
*
Yeah..im also quite curious to know its performance...but the 85mm on APS-C is quite pushy..have to "hit cow in between mountain" (cantonese)... laugh.gif even with 50mm I have to stand like 2 meters away from my subject to fill d frame with a little space left beside my subject..

QUOTE(albnok @ Sep 24 2010, 12:17 PM)
ReasonsofThanatos: Refer to my reply to zstan. Your camera came after the A900. Backfocusing with the Minolta 50mm F1.4 was a problem before the A900 as well.
*
So it has to do with the body of the camera, but not really the lens huh? too bad then..guess selective focus point will sort that out? hmm.gif

QUOTE(clivengu @ Sep 24 2010, 12:19 PM)
Something wrong with the focusing .. or too soft? Tamron 1750 F2.8 rm 1300 i bought for a new one.
So far No such problem.. focusing is fast and accurate on my A700.. though i learn the hard way. I bought my A700 + tamron 1750F2.8 together... and I realise serious backfocusing problem....before i bought the lens i heard of frequent Tamron backfocusing problem.. so I thought is the tamron problem..100%. Never would I thought in the end is my New A700 is the one that is backfocusing. hahaha.. my solution to it is to adjust the A700 focusing point myself.. Now everything is good.. no more backfocusing problem on my tamron.. and its focusing is fast enough.. no complaint . it focus faster than i could respond. (mayb im a slow person tongue.gif ) after adjusting the focus plate my 50mm f1.4 also focus accurately. But now I realise i only rely on my center focusing point because my other side focusing points arent that accurate .... but as long as i have center focus accurate.. i can do most of my shot. I dont dare to tweak with my camera again.. whistling.gif
*
haha yeah this pic's a bit too soft sweat.gif i guess d focus' off. So selective focus do reduce the backfocusing problem...then it's alright...i have my confidence back on this lens rclxms.gif

QUOTE(ieR @ Sep 24 2010, 12:37 PM)
dear friend, the backfocus issue is nothing to do with the lens, its the camera body. mine was calibrate base on 50mm F1.4, then my tamron F2.8 becomes Very sharp.
*
So it means 50mmF1.4 is softer than tammy?? hmm.gif

ReasonsofThanatos: No, Local AF points will not sort that out.

No, the 50mm F1.4 is sharp - just that misfocusing makes it appear soft when it is actually misfocused.
*
so d best way would be manual focus? or just focus on the subject then recompose, like what i've always did..

QUOTE(ieR @ Sep 25 2010, 01:22 AM)
50 F1.4 is really really sharp!

here a sample, zommed 100%, F2 on my calibrated A300. *warning HUGE photo*

Oh i see...no wonder some of my pics still appears soft though i've pre-focused that point and recompose..thanks bro for the tip! guess i'll have to choose my AF-points carefully.. notworthy.gif
