I have one question here.. Is TTL for flashes important?
*
TTL is like having an Autofocus (AF) lens instead of MF nod.gif .

erm what's the expected RRP for a560/a580?

zstan: +2000!

mastering89: The A560 and A580 should replace the A500 and A550 in price. That is how it has always been, but I would call the product manager on Monday to ask.

gjtan: Tamron cheaper, Sony better, but the Sony 18-250mm is faster in focusing.

Deerc: Middle of October, Sony says.

r.wern: Not true to all. It takes 6 frames.

owh nice. biggrin.gif
cannot tahan already with enuf money in hand sweat.gif

wingster: nice rclxms.gif .i'd prefer #4 than #5 . i'd have been pass by there nearly everyday but neva stop by doh.gif

hmm.. 1 question here...

Hvl-f42am- 4 months old, 8 months warranty - rm600
Hvl-f42am- 1yr old, built in diffuser broken - rm500
Hvl-f56am- minor wear and tears - rm700...

Which most worth it? =D
*
i'd go for the 1st one nod.gif

it will try to over sharpen the picture to remove the noise IINM. correct me if i'm wrong.  hmm.gif

edited : sifu albnok explains above this post thumbup.gif

if you ON the LOng Exposure NR, after u took long exposure shots like 15sec, the camera will take 15sec more then only you can snap another pic.
if you OFF the Long Exp NR, this would not happen.

but you will notice on you picture (OFF Long Exp NR) there will be white dots, IINM called the hotspots or somethinghot pixel. the 15sec after the long exposure is to reduce the hotspots hot pixel . with the Long Exp NR OFF, you see the white dots as if it is noise (iinm).

sorry i dunno how to explain , but sifu albnok had explained before (explained by sifu albnok above me nod.gif ).

like in this pic.

ahpingko : kidding only laugh.gif , imho most basic compact have nearly same functions and performance. try to read reviews (don trust them fanboi-kaki's punya reviews thou sweat.gif) and try play2 at Sony Style first better nod.gif

jim0n : depends on what u are shooting and your shooting style. 28mm on APS-C is not wide. but usually at 80mm the minolta/sigma 28-80 have macro/close up function . can get up to 1:2 macro close up. ++ if add on Raynox smile.gif

here sample from Sigma 28 80 (@80mm f/5.6)

iamKiet: must share poisons ya.... XP
*
hmm how mach u bought it eh??
the range is also nice nod.gif
for you if i'm getting a UWA, what should i consider ? (distortions ?/ mfd? / sharpness for sure / etc)

Batmaninkl : for the cost of getting 50mm 1.4 , if you're interested in macro and love the 50mm range , try get the 50mm f/2.8 macro (sony/sigma). or better get the Tamron SP90 rclxms.gif

Newbieeeeee : owh.
p.s~ pocket wizard is dem expensive . i'd rather buy a F42/F58 sweat.gif

Batmaninkl : erm, if i were you, i'd stick to the kitlens first. try to get grip to my shooting style/range before randomly buying lenses. because for some people (me) , i dont like the 50mm range/wide . i knew this because i bought the 50mm 1.8 before and then gave it to my bro becoz not liking it (trade to his sal55200 actually sweat.gif) . but its the cheapest lens around with nice bokeh, no harm getting it laugh.gif

Wow, this month sure a lot of wedding coz good month!
I would likt to take this chance to seek some advice from those experienced photographer regarding the usage of Flash during indoor wedding dinner shooting.

I got a F42 flash gun but not 100% utilise it because i always set everything to auto. Anyone here can share some settings? how to set it to TTL? as well as some tips and advise when shooting in such event.

Normally when i shoot, i get a very bright foreground where the face of the people are very harsh n bright and the background appear to be dark.

hope can get some advise here =)

thanks~!
*
bounce is good, can catch ambient light rather than harsh foreground + dark background.
but better prepare diffuser or bounce card (DIY or like this one) as if in hotel the ceiling might be too high and you might have to use higher power, then battery cepat habis or overheat. sweat.gif

cplow1 : the setting of fill/rear sync flash is in your camera, if u using Auto mode , automatically camera use fill flash. in other mode PASM u kena change the setting by urself. just understand the concept of fill flash / rear sync / slow sync then u know when, why, where and how to use it nod.gif
