If you have the space and commitment, then by all means go get it. Price wise I think it's a steal. I've got like 6 2-3 incher for $25 each at my lfs ~2 weeks back and I just switched to feeding goldfish instead of longkang fish yesterday 

Anyway, I was told that our gov does not allow alligator gar to be brought into the country and the juve are all somehow smuggled pieces. How far is that true, go figure but I seriously rarely see them on lfs except few years back. I guess they started limiting the quantity coming in since someone caught a pretty big one in pahang.
