Spare A thought these fish will grow huge and fast !!

And if you go to the right breeder you can get them for less than RM 10 a pc (converting them to freshwater takes less than 2 months or about 10 water changes ) Some breeder / hatcheries will even do that for you to almost freshwater !!
*
hi samperth,

less than RM10? are u very sure? bearing in mind, if its selling at RM10 per pcs.. i seriously dont think the conservation status will still be "vulnerable"? its IUCN Red List threatened species - the same

status as overly harvest Betta macrostoma. and question...

why dont people trade b. macrostoma at RM10?

if its RM10, the popularity of the fish will just be as much as food fish.. patin, marbled goby (soon hock) etc..

and why dont the kelong fish breeders sell Red Grouper at RM10? why pay RM100+ for the fish? correct me if i'm wrong.

also, another thing to highlight. those fishes that grows to extensive sizes in the wild will NOT likely to grow as huge as u thought. so dont take that as an major issue. go and check out those fish keepers at indonesia, japan

and taiwan, ur jaw will drop when u check their tanks! sometimes i wonder where are all the msian monster fish lovers..

well all in all, its individual preference.

cheers bro! smile.gif

Hello guys,
I'm planning to get meself a channa/snakehead/toman,and I'm eyeing on channa bleheri. Is it easy to get?
Is 2 ft tank adequate for this particular species?Do they eat a lot?
Thanks..

Hi Alcip,

Channa bleheri is totally easy to find. Usual price is RM40-45. Not sure about pudu.
2ft. is way enough as this speceis dont grow large. Eating wise, okay!

Hope this helps! cheers! biggrin.gif

Pretty happy to see this thread still alive smile.gif sorry I haven't been active here just didn't want to get too addicted and trying to concentrate on studies.. still can't get into the biggy fish world sad.gif

just wanted to ask, does pudu sell indian almond leaves? and to make a tank more acidic, can we just pick up roadside dried leaves and put them in the tank? After microwaving them to get rid of bacteria and stuff...
*
collect those leaves and soak it in a tank..

then scope up the "blacken water" into ur tank..

can coral make water acidic?
*
nope.

coral chips will lead to higher pH.

The reason why ppl uses coral chips in their tank is to:
- prolong water changes.
- for tanganyika fishes.
- decoration maybe? hehehe.. biggrin.gif

Spotted at Irene Aquarium:

Paddlefish, about 15cm+ going for RM 198.

Dragon goby, RM 110. Looks like a deep sea creature.

Sturgeon: RM 45

Tempted to get the paddlefish but its plankton diet is a bit of a put off.

Paddlefish at Kin Fatt Aquarium, Kepong selling RM50 per pcs only.. size is 5-6" (15cm+/-)..
Go grab it..
