3ft can only housed ur senegalus well but endli is king sized.
Mine a few inches already can see significant growth. So imagine it stuck in ur 3ft after a few years?

Plecos dont commed well with birchirs. They kill birchirs slowly. Given a few months, birchirs become gar food.
Get driftwood and PVC to create hidey holes.
Wrapped ur tank (3 sides) with black papers, bottom need red paper or red substrate. Then use red lighting. All these will make their markings more significant.

Senegalus takes pellets well. Train it. Lower cost compared to live feeders

Thats quite far a distance. Nvm, this hobby can wait. As long as u can get someone to feed ur fishes at home, they should do good.
It took me sometime to update my tank as well (and other former tanks before). Will post pics later if i hv the time.

It's a risk. Oscar is very territorial. Mine even bullied fishes bigger than him.
So make sure ur tank is very large, and he can have his share of territory.
If not, small polys will be tortured till death do them apart brows.gif

I think we're in the same boat here. I wanna keep gars too, but scared they'll outgrow my tank very soon. Bichirs are bottom dwellers, and could be quite boring sometimes. So i think my tank need another surface fish, preferably the active ones.

Do u guys think arowana is a good choice to house with Bichirs?

Seriously? AFAIK, releasing a gar in the wild is prohibited, as it may threat local SPs.

I suggest u not to do it. U can just trade in with LFS owners when buying another fish. He'll offer low price, of course. But u get a win-win situation. The fish also will have a new owner.

Flyriver Turtle (FRT) or Pignosed Turtle. Can see pics here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1409358/+2440

Its a fully aquatic turtle so should be no problem.

Can study details here http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/care...iver_turtle.htm
