1st of all, congrats rclxms.gif

tried this when I'm surveying for new guitar, loved the inlay, but not the combination of spruce+rosewood blush.gif
price of this model in penang was 1.35k back in May (without bag/case), if i'm not mistaken.

anyway, I bought ED21SC, spruce+mahagony laugh.gif

No special reason, I just prefer spruce+mahagony. Tried both, but I think that spruce+mahagony suits me more biggrin.gif

Okay this is obviously turning to a thread for Takamine-Owners.
...which i am not, but soon to be.

kycloud83, Takamine is the shizz. you better play well with that and have a tight acoustic performance with that guitar. Cos no one messes with the mannn.

rm1500 is a reasonable price, and that's alright for a Takamine.
Again, good guitar, play nicely, enjoy it, and one day i'll be jamming with my own takamine too.

Thanks for sharing!

Just tried some Takamines at Bentley earlier this today. They are superb!

I fell in love with a G-series there but forgot the exact model.

It is made in Korea, natural satin finished, and the fretboard is clean with no inlays. Cutaway dreadnought with Takamine pickup. Price tag is RM1850.

The sound, playability, and the feel, all feels perfect. I even picked up a Taylor tagged at RM4k plus, but still prefer the Taka in all angle hohoho. But dunno if that's because my ear hav sound problem.

My next acoustic would definitely be a Takamine.

Is there any other shops that hav wide range of Korean Takamines other than Bentley?

Yeah I used to think Taylors guitar are the best till I get my hands on the Takamine, which is not even half of the price of a Taylor.

And the Takamine does feel and sound better.

Takamine cheaper cos those takamine is made in china or korea using less expensive labour. There's also some expensive models which are made in Japan. Taylor is expensive cos the guitars are made in US, some made in Mexico. Taylor is hand-made by skilled guitar makers using fine woods and good materials. The way they made the guitars, the labours, woods, materials, technology, shipping make the price different. One thing is the Taylor holds its resale value better than a Taka. Martins guitar has high resale value too. That has more to do with the name than anything else. Anyhow, they all have made some really nice guitars. smile.gif

In short, go Asia! Support Takamines!

Those Westerners think they're the best, they definitely aren't.

In budget wise, takamine is value for money. For quality and reputation, Taylor is great, but expensive. I won't buy Taylor unless it's 2nd hand. If 2k can get a new Taka or 2nd hand Taylor, I will choose Taylor.

+1
Takamine is a very established and well respected brand. They have been making fine guitars for a long time now and yes, I love their sound. rclxms.gif

I tried takamine in bently before, in my opinion, takamine doesn't have the crisps sound, lack trebles, more warm and bass. It sounds better when i play plugged in.

I just bought a Takamine EG360SC as well. Man, I love how the guitar sounds. Beats my CPX700 flat! If my friend uses my CPX700, then I can use the EG360SC together as both of them compliment one another (Yammie sounds warm while Tak sounds clear and crisp).

I should have get my hands on EG360SC because it's just awesome. The action is low and it's easy to play! Definitely a good bang for my bucks!
