haha...twitter never lies.

capcom unity forum also got rumors about Resident Evil getting a western reboot like DMC, and no more "stay put to shoot" formula.
I guess we just wait and see.

Especially the fact that this is from Ninja Theory I'm afraid.
If the gameplay changes to the style of Heavenly Sword.... oh my god, the game would fail before it even enters beta.

I like HS gameplay, just hate that its so short.
I dont mind playing old dmc gameplay+western story and looks or complete revamp (HS gameplay and dmc storyline)

Only will bash them if the game is effing short.

IMO those so called "fans" are mostly ppl with shallow point of view.

You could see the franchise itself struggles with character developments and cliched plot.
Just take a hard look at DMC4 for example. These so called "fans" should be furious at THAT game instead.

I mean, as a follower of the series, Ive played DMC3, and I thought "Okay, this is what the term "devil may cry" for the game came from, now that I understand it, next I wanted to see where Dante's journey leads him next"
But no, Dante suddenly became too old to be the main the protagonist, and the whole essence of "devil may cry" that the previous installment built on is suddenly shifted to a new character.
I was like wtf? Arent you furious about that?

Just think about if it were the Uncharted series. You now known Nathan Drake more than ever after 3 series.
Suddenly, Uncharted 4, main protagonist is changed to someone else. And Nathan Drake became nothing more than a lame cameo.

This reboot is what the franchise desperately needs, a good foundation to build more sequels.
I hope we'll get to see Dante actually "grow" through out the series and not getting sidelined, with better, more chronologically ordered plot.

Im pretty sure every preview Ive read said that the gameplay is retained, so no worries on that department.

DmC developer Ninja Theory has invited some of the world's top Devil May Cry players to its studio to try the game and offer some constructive feedback.

As seen on NeoGAF, invitations reportedly sent out today read:
"I'm part of the team currently developing the new Devil May Cry title at Ninja Theory and I wanted to get in touch to see if you'd like to come in and play the game.

"Essentially I'm inviting in a very select few really top end DMC players to come and play through a section of the game and talk to some of our team about your experience."
The developer has offered to cover travel costs.
sos

With this much dedication, they deserve at least a benefit of a doubt.
If the gameplay is done wrong, we can now blame the so called "top players". tongue.gif

UE3 is still good enough for this gen.Even Bioshock Infinite is using them, though Ken Levine did say that they did their own share of modifications to the engine.
The problem is not the game engine, but the developers that doesnt fully utilize it.
Added the fact how dated consoles gcs are, its amazing how some developers could squeeze great graphics out of it.
Im guessing ppl expect EVERY developers to be able to do it too, but sadly this isnt the case most of the time.

Actually, it isn't so much about how the game looks right now...
It's about how it plays.

Whatever they do, UE3 engine isn't cut out to replicate the engine Capcom used for DMC3 and DMC4 (though DMC4 used MT Framework however, the reason for the slower combat).
It's just not the same if the feeling of that arcadish, in-your-face stylish combat being taken away.

I was replying to the skeptics who says UE3 is ugly.

btw,
Everything can be replicated, imo.

I remembered in an X-Play episode, where the developers surprised their bosses by saying they used mo-cap for Spliter Cell game,
when in fact they used traditional animation.Very epic.

I dont think replicating the combat would be hard, as harder things like human motion has been replicated.
