how did we know if it been root.. coz when folow all the step for the custom recovery.. the line no 2.. it show error not found the file image.. im using v10a.. pls help.. it make me moody..
*
Check properly. You must extract the *.img file from the zip file you downloaded, not the zip file itself.

QUOTE(imationyj @ Jan 25 2011, 09:39 PM)
another questions... after downgraded my phone shows an error tat nid to force close the gmail isit normal? and while in this v10a version.. its damn lag =.=
*
The reason to downgrade to lower version is to enable rooting in order to install custom ROM. There's no point if you downgrade from the better v10e to v10a just to use the v10a. Unless you want to continue experiencing lag, then install a custom ROM, or upgrade it back to the stable v10e.

Speed improvement. You can now play Angry Birds 100% without lag, smooth all the way and same goes to other popular games. No more unnecessary LG Apps Advisor and many more useless apps hogging the memory compared to LG ROM. You are probably hesitating to install void or not, but trust me you won't go back to LG ROM, except when you need to claim warranty laugh.gif

got it unticked but still cant detect. maybe i should install the LG PC suite first to get the phone driver on the pc so it can be recognized/detected? hmm.gif
*
From many problems I see here, I could tell that you guys did not get the LG USB drivers installed properly, or did not install it at all. Sure, your phone is detected by your PC, but only as a storage device without the driver, no different from your thumb drive.

so, i just need to start from here?
*
You need to downgrade to Android 2.2 (v10c and earlier) to root your phone, if it's already 2.2 then you don't need to downgrade to root. You need to get your phone rooted to flash custom ROM.

say, mushy, after rooting n flashing, n when 2.3 comes out, we can't install LG's stock 2.3 via the LG Updater anymore right?
*
I suppose not, you need to flash LG original ROM back again, but I'm sure they are working on Gingerbread-based Void ROM now.

It would be better to repeat the Terminal Emulator process and continue from there

ive just made it. so now i need to connect it to my pc using usb mode and copy the .nandroid folder out? or was it cut, instead of copy? and btw, do i have to have lotsa free space in the sd card? im just using the default 2gb i got from the phone  icon_question.gif

now i see it, theres no ".nandroid" folder, but i do have "nandroid" folder... any explanation? rclxub.gif

I can see one of your problem. The 2GB SDcard given with the phone is problematic. Sometimes it becomes undetected for no apparent reason. It's really recommended that you get a replacement SD card of Class 4. Anything below Class 4 might be posing you some troubles.

Don't really have a problem, but it takes longer time to get a lock.

Did you notice that after reboot the phone, the mHz will go back to 400 mHz from 1000+- quadrant previously?

I got no such problem. Does anyone else have this problem?

Does unrooted Optimus One support tethering?  Just plug-in to PC and utilise its data connection?
*
Yes it does. Froyo comes with tethering feature by default.

Go here and search for sapps-addon, download it and put in void settings folder on the SD card. Reboot.

New to Android? Then read here, http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1211308.

Since you have been using iOS, I'm sure you are familiar of jailbreaking (which is illegal). Android has the similar term, which is called rooting (which is legal). As someone who has used both of these OS, Android rooting is like 10x what iOS jailbreaking is capable of. iOS gives you simplicity, but Android is really hard to use initially, but once you have got the hang on it, it's really powerful and flexible.

1. It's a quick start guide, not a manual. Even HTC Desire only provides this. You can download the 30mb pdf manual from the web, just google "Optimus T manual)

2&3. You can uninstall them by rooting the phone. If you don't want clutter, you can install custom ROM which is one of the wonders of Android smile.gif but get help from someone who can do it for you since this is not really for you at this rate, so rooting and uninstalling them would be the best.

4. LG firmware does not provide swype as of this moment IIANM.

Didn't you guys make a nandroid backup? That's the purpose. If it doesn work or you somehow messed with the backup, just use the KDZ updater to flash the original LG firmware again.

how to? i didnt root my phone, what should i do to create a nandroid backup?
*
Refer to the instructions I posted earlier. When you are to flash a custom ROM, you will need to go through the nandroid backup process.

changed the sd to 8GB class 6 but still cant do nandroid backup external...  icon_question.gif

Ok I guess you have to repeat the whole thing from the beginning. Flash back the original LG firmware, unroot your phone, then start from step 1 sweat.gif

mushy i wanna ask u abt the kernel mode(overclock model) one after i create the kernel folder almost all my apps hav duplicated =.= how can i fix it? it scares me so i deleted the kernel folder lol
*
Eh? I don't have this problem. How about creating it again?

QUOTE(leanhs @ Jan 28 2011, 07:35 PM)
Just want to thank mushy for compiling the void update for various source, did the update (in fact 3 times ROM reflash) and also the touch screen kernel update, all seems to be working fine.
You may already know this but for those who'll like to update you may also use adb to key all the command and reboot into recovery (for me it save me from pressing 3 button to get into recovery). Cheers.
*
No problem, I just compiled it so forumers here don't need to refer to many different websites and got confused which one to do first.

QUOTE(ciwek90 @ Jan 28 2011, 07:40 PM)
is this the ultimate thing we can do with O1?means with this O1 will be perfect?
*
Not actually perfect, but performance is much better than what you got out of the box.

Because it's a free market, everyone is welcome to enter, stay or leave laugh.gif I don't bother downloading one since I do regular backup, and do not download from dubious sources.

how many memory should i buy for my lg optimus one p500 ?

Depends on your use. 8GB (7.4GB working capacity) is enough for me, but if you feel like it's not enough then go for 16GB.

Any brand as long as microSD biggrin.gif I'm using Apacer, simply because Kingston didn't provide me with the adapter, Patriot was too expensive even though it is class 4 too, Sandisk was expensive too. In the end, I chose Apacer because it was the cheapest and came with the adapter doh.gif
