I don't even bother to root now, or install app2sd. Froyo can already do that, I don't need apps to clutter inside the phone

That means it's not transferable. Probably old apps. Well then, you need to root your phone in this case if you so badly want it to be moved to SD. I'll keep things at minimal, the phone is barely 2 weeks old.

Nope not experiencing any. Besides, it has nothing to do with 2G connection. Voicemail has been around since way before 3G connection was introduced. |

QUOTE(donpapachino @ Jan 24 2011, 06:10 PM) can provide link for the file? and step-by-step guide? You can follow step by step here.havent rooted this phone also, still virgin. but once u start, u wont turn back. I've simplified the instructions from many sources together into one compilation below, credits were duly honored to the original writers in the source section below. Things to Do Before Proceeding 1. Battery is full. 2. Have the *.apk files of your favorite apps on PC if possible. Less hassle to find and install back afterwards. 3. Make sure LG Phone USB driver is PROPERLY INSTALLED. 4. I will not be held responsible should anything undesirable happen to your phone. Firmware & Rooting ##Downgrading firmware## 1. Download v10a here. 2. Download and extract LG KDZ Updater. 3. Install msxml.msi, and load DZ_FW_UPD.exe. 4. Set the option to 3GQCT and DIAG. 5. Load the firmware downloaded earlier, and launch the update. The phone will display EMERGENCY MODE! sign, but it's supposed to do so. 6. Look at the update window, it will say 'COMPLETE after you run it about 5 minutes roughly. Your phone will reboot when it's done. *this is the same method to upgrade to newer original LG ROM or downgrade to older original LG ROM. ##Rooting## 1. Download z4root, transfer to phone and install. 2. Set to USB debug mode in setting. 3. Load z4root, and click permanent root (it is still unrootable). It should take less than 5 minutes. Flashing with Custom ROMs ##Things to download## 1. Download .void ROM. 2. Download Terminal Emulator and install on phone. 3. Download Custom Recovery Tool Image and its Flash Image, and put them into SD root (the main folder of SD card). Remember, the *.img file, not the *.zip file. ##System Recovery and Flashing## 1. Load Terminal Emulator on phone. 2. Type "su" (without quotes) and press enter, the $ should now become #. 3. Type exactly what is in the spoiler, down right to capital letters and spacing. Line by line (rotate your phone horizontally for easy view). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « *an error will appear when you register the 4th line, it's OK so leave it be. 4. Switch off the phone after completion. Now, reboot into recovery mode by pressing and holding power button, volume down button and home button. Use volume button as up and down keys, menu button as Enter/Yes. 5. Run Nand Backup External 6. Run Partition SD card. You must do each menu available step by step (the last step would be ext3 to ext4). 7. Run Wipe All, then reboot. 8. Connect the USB to your phone, transfer the .void ROM (zipfile) to SD root. Disconnect the USB cable, and reboot. 9. Boot into System Recovery again (power, low volume and home button). 10. Select Flash menu, choose the .void ROM, and initiate flashing. 11. Reboot, and this time it will take a while (around 5 minutes for first boot). 12. Should be running on .voiD (or any custom ROM) by now. QUOTE(imationyj @ Jan 24 2011, 10:06 PM) wanna ask abt the partition sd card... isit no nid to download anything to partition our sd card? You need to download the Custom Recovery Tool and the Flash Image. Void ROM gets rid off many apps that LG provided in its original firmware where we don't even need them, saving precious memory. On top of that, the kernel inside Void overclocked the CPU to 706Mhz by default, and you can enable hardware acceleration to make the animation better.Added on January 24, 2011, 10:29 pm can tell me wat is so special abt the void rom? isit the best rom for O1 in the meantime? QUOTE(hawk123 @ Jan 24 2011, 10:31 PM) Still no luck in downgrade the firmware. Yes you need to. Perhaps you didn't install the USB driver correctly? Load up LG Mobile updater, change the country to Singapore, and get the USB driver.Do I need to switch on the debugging mode in the phone? And I'm using Win 7 64 bit. Could this the problem? |

QUOTE(reddevilchoo @ Jan 25 2011, 12:21 AM) What if I choose Partition SD card 1st before backup? Theoretically, yes, but handphone battery life can last over 10 years if properly taken care of, and even if it's reduced by 2 years (for example), I'm sure in the course of 8 years, you will switch to at least a few phones already I haven wipe all my stuffs though but I can't see a single apk files that I downloaded previously. Any solutions? |

QUOTE(justnits @ Jan 25 2011, 10:43 AM) the easiest way i found is to use Apps2SD apps to help u transfer TRANSFERABLE apps from phone memory to SD. You don't need Apps2SD to do that. Froyo can do that in the Application setting.it will detect which apps that is transferable n u just have to select it n click transfer to SD. QUOTE(justnits @ Jan 25 2011, 10:43 AM) so for my case, i've already updated to 2.2.1, in order to root it, i need to downgrade to 2.2, doing so will not wipe my data YET right? i really scared of this flashing thing...last time i flash my old motorola L6, it works but then it eats my battery a lot, then i tried to restore, cannot edi Changing firmware won't wipe the data. I'm sure you have flashed some PC motherboard firmwares before, did you lose your data? Nope. However, it is a good practice to make a data backup just in case. This post has been edited by :3mushy:3: Jan 25 2011, 11:00 AM |
