Already out. It's targeted at those normal consumer like girls la, not prosumer or photographers. How many pros out there would choose sony over the other big 2?
Because size and weight of SLR cameras has always been an issue for girls, so sony decided to make it light and small instead of big, heavy and bulky. Meanwhile, they also throw in some new stuffs like translucent mirror ma, so those girls show off to their pns user friends, and can camwhore silently, no mirror flipping loud sounds.
Try and hold the 2 SLT yourself, the grip doesn't fit a guy's hand one la.
I read around, SLT has shutter noise too as there is slight movement of the mirror to allow light through.
Getting one uni of? D7k or SB700 ? If wanan get a better flash, wat do you think? SB700 or SB900 straight? I not doing events or wedding yet..... for long run SB900 better?
Added on November 11, 2010, 2:49 pmHaaiizz.... Juz got call frm my fren's shop at BB Plaza, price juz released to them today!! D7k body price 3800, 18-105mm kit 4450! Sad la.... I thought body would be 3500+, haaizz....
D7000 is nice, but if I were to get a new body at the moment it would be the D700 . Minus one zero je XD. But then again am waiting for the replacements~
I would get the D300s anytime, much more solid body, faster focusing, better grip
I'm very interested to know how did you claim D300s has faster focusing than D7000? Any data to prove this? Don't just say D300s has more advance AF and etc blablah. The D7000's system is new and who knows it might be even faster than D300s'.
Well of course if you've some data to prove this then I'll listen .
Focusing speed not something to do with the focus motor driving it? I thought D300s has a much bigger motor hence faster focus. I know D7000 has new 2056RGB sensor improve auto focus, but I thought it will just affect the processing speed and accuracy. I asked b4, the 50mm F1.4G do focus faster on higher end body, then I know even with SWM, body still makes a diff.
Like I said, let's compare with a new lens with SWM. What makes you think D300s will focus faster than a D7000? No reviews comparing this yet, nor you've used both of them right? A bit unfair to the D7000.
My thinking is that, the D7000 might be on par or maybe faster than D300s due to new AF system.
2056RGB is just for metering and probably scene mode. I guess that might just affect if you're using area mode, but if single point I don't think the 2056 RGB sensor will make any differences.
Pretty reasonable price for D7000, just slight pricier than D90 when it was launched 2 years ago. Guess this will boost Nikon sales just like what the D90 did previously.
From the pixel peeper comparison of Dpreview, y the Canon 60D seems to have better noise control than the D7000? Even the D300s is bettter? haaizz.... or this kinda review is not accurate
Haha, you get what you pay for. Anyways the 60D out of competition this time. This D7000 is up against the 7D instead. Like previously lor, people comparing D90 to 500D. LOL.
Just came back from Mid Valley surveying the D7000 price. One shop offer RM3850 for body and RM4500 with kit lens.
Keycolor? Nice pricing from them.

Agreed about price.
Using ShaShinKi.com as a reference. Nikon D7000 = RM 3,950.00 Canon 7D = RM 4,589.00
Other thing to take note off. The price of lenses (unless you use 3rd party ones). Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8G Zoom Super Wide Angle AF ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Autofocus Lens RM5,050.00
Don laugh at us who use DX la bro..... ditch D700 for D7k?? U r telling me u wanna sell ur Mitsubushi Lancer for Proton Inspira when ppl claim inspira's handling better den Lancer?? hahaaa.......
All improvement on the D7000 is really impressive especially the autofocus speed!! There is one thing make me really sad..... the images turns out to be very soft even at iso200, till now I still dunno why!! compared to my previous D5k, at iso 200, u can see the razor sharp image when u zoom in 100% to see the person's eyes! but with D7k, the face like being photoshop with gaussian blur!!
Any pro here tested out mind to share, so sad for this point, haaiz....
I tested the D7000 on 85mm f/1.4G and 70200 f/2.8G. Razor sharp at ISO100! Kaolat!
