From the pixel peeper comparison of Dpreview, y the Canon 60D seems to have better noise control than the D7000? Even the D300s is bettter? haaizz.... hmm.gif  or this kinda review is not accurate

Funny how some review shows great pictures while there are others that are, as said, muddy even at ISO3200. Is it a batch problem or the reviews should not be trusted at all?
*
What about review from JAPAN themselves, with all ISO range sample and different Noise Control?

Those photos ISO 3200 noise is acceptable tho hmm.gif
Still I believe SG photos, no idea why.
*
Maybe lighting affect it more? The japan site sample taken outdoor, while the SG one is indoor right?

I think personal hands on is the best review.
Personally, I find the D7000 sample picture too bright, the colour is bright; D300S seems better in this aspect, close to FX quality reproduction.

He's a proven Nikon fanboy biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Previously he compared the D7000 against the 7D, he did mention the 7D is better. Anyway, he also admit he's a Nikon fanboy.

Spec wise, build construction, etc. no doubt the 60D didn't stand a chance, just like he mentioned, it feels down-graded from it's predecessor, where as the D7000 is a major improvement over it's predecessor; I think this is what makes the difference mainly.

Anyway, I think the Pentax K-5 is a much closer and tougher competitor to the D7000, with the Pentax scoring better in overall score. It's shown in dxomark, snapsort, etc comparison; Of course, these are just comparisons. What's most important is to the owner himself/herself.

Did anyone compare with Sony NEX-5? It looks softer and less detail in 6400 but smoother and cleaner than 60D or D7000?

Early morning I doh.gif my head to wake myself up laugh.gif
As long as it's NIKON MALAYSIA warranty card, it's local set.

Thanks~
I also heard from the a shop making claims that other shop selling cheaper could be giving non-genuine battery. Any idea? I think it's possible but I'm not sure, if they do that, if Nikon Malaysia found out they will be in trouble right?
I think better if we check on the battery if possible.

Yup, get the body only (RM3,800) will be fine... by the way, the camera already launched, but already sold off in most of the camera shops...  cry.gif

Anyone know whether Nikon Malaysia (officially) giving away any free gift for purchasing the D7000 body?
Maybe DSLR bag and/or a SD card?  smile.gif
*
Can get DSLR bag + 8 or 4GB SDHC Card.

Problem with limited stock is, they are firm on the pricing or even try to play around with the price; Keep changing their price, if you ask at different time.
Another problem is, if they have only 1 unit, many people would've touch and tested it, the shutter count when you get it could have be over few hundred. If true, can the buyer request for better price?

QUOTE(jloi @ Nov 15 2010, 06:36 PM)

Haven't been shooting at 6400 ISO on D7000, maybe tonight really give it a test run. Hehe, yesterday the owner didn't want to lemme use cause she was so busy shooting T_T.
*
If you shot at dark room, the picture started become grainy around > 1000 iso. Now I know why dxomark stated 1100++ iso. You can see how bad it is by just zooming a little from the camera itself when reviewing the photo.

Lemme share some of my first shot, my fren's super cute daughter  biggrin.gif

Shot taken at Normal Quality JPEG, forgotten to change after Nikon reset them. Pic 2 & 3 resize to smaller
*
What's the aperture? When you zoom in the picture for ISO1600 and ISO3200, how's the noise like when preview from the camera (zoom in)?

QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 17 2010, 01:22 PM)
Woolala, 3200 ISO is pretty much usable!
*
Under sufficient lighting, it seems much more usable than insufficient or very low light... hmm.gif

Shot at F2, lens is 35mm. The noise level is very low, I mean at iso 3200, looks like D5k iso 800, haven really tested yet....
I dont wanna flash coz I don wanna hurt the little girl and wanna take some natural pics of her..... If the background has nice lighting den I will set it for slow sync =)

Added on November 17, 2010, 2:26 pmOh ya, haha.... how to crop 100% using photoshop(I tried but cant find the 100% or 4R size crop for photo printing) or any other easy method? Btw my shots are at Normal JPEG and size priority compress set default by the cam. Forgot to change them after sending in my body for medical check up, they reset it.
*
Yea, agreed! I've seen D5K sample pictures. I think the newer models improve more on the noise level, even the D3100.

Tried setting up to EV+5, seems same result; If in dark room or extreme low light, ISO 6400 is really bad, when zoom in from the camera preview can even see some red dots, but that's under extreme low light without flash.

I think the EV will help more if there's more light in the room?

thx for the suggestion!!
can descibe further for this 'isn't promising at all'? what will be the difference? coz i am planning to take 35mm lens too...i seeing my fren using 35 f/1.8G, seems no complain from her..  wink.gif
*
35mm lens when attached to DX body, there's crop factor of 1.5x, which changes the focal length to around 52.5mm. It's good for many situations, as they say, a general walk around lens; You can use this lens for whole day if you want.

If you attach the 50mm to the DX body, the focal length will become 75mm, which means you need to stand further away from the object to get the same view with 35mm. You can take the 50mm f1.8, which is cheaper but let's say you want capture full body, you need to stand further away than if you use the 35mm.
Personally, I prefer the 35mm f1.8G which cost around RM800 or less.
