btw, it won't be any "side effect" after unlock or debrand on the phone..

if you mentioning the unlock the phone like since u get from Aus, i think u will be lock in network 3. Then if u wan to go back to Malaysia, u have to unlock it and use it like maxis or digi network. Actually you can telephone to 3 network to unlock ur mobile using a series of code. that the simplest way but you have a pay a huge sum for 3 unless you have been for 1 year or more then 3 will release or unlock the phone for u in no charge.

There is some "Mr Nice Guy" come out this genius unlocking device which will not need any special soldering devices to unlock the mobile. They come out like software or unlocking clips to unlock the phone is more simple way .. so it's won't harm any to your phone and it work as well as others.. same method and more simple stuff.

That's for unlocking, and now debranding the firmware, which is changing back to more original stuff that we want .. Mostly on European side doesn't have Chinese Firmware, so we can't see any Chinese SMS or typing Chinese Characters to other ppl as well. Therefore a firmware upgrade to let us have more specialize for ppl like us. If you get newer firmware means less bugs and better graphics and phone performance. Maybe you could say the side effects are in the Plus side, not in Negative side. If you flash the new firmware and you still in Australia, maybe i can say you have just void the warranty.. simple... just 2 my cent, hope you can understand..
