lksing78, any ideas as to how to make DIY drivers for the M11X-R1 with the latest nvidia 260.63 beta drivers? i'm currently stumped as they have totally repackaged their driver.

have you tried reinstalling the Intel chipset drivers?

did u change the settings under "Control Panel-->Power Options" or through Alienware Command Centre??

arrghh...why only personalized plates now?? can i order one and retrofit it myself???

finally changed my crappy DW1520 wifi card to a brand new Intel Wifi Link Advanced-N 6200 for my M11X. connection strength jumped from 60% to 99%. hopefully it'll solve my problem of dropped connections during streaming movies from my desktop.

i totally agree. i changed mine too. got dell to change my old DW1520 to a new one and ordered another Intel 6200 from them. only RM100.

wifi signals increased significantly. streaming from my desktop is seamless and lag free now.

wow...RM50 is cheap. dell must have ripped me off. but anyways, my company is paying for it. i can get that price from Ebay but not sure if it's genuine. most of the cards on ebay are ES versions. they don't play very well with official intel drivers. so i dare not order (even though they ship to malaysia).

i'm using the latest 64bit drivers from Intel. no problems or comp freezing. but my dumb linksys wireless-n router giving me problems at home. the router keeps switching between the two bands (2.4 vs 5ghz), giving me inconsistent speeds. but office is blazing fast with full signal bar. (router is almost 15 feet away) even my usual starbucks hotspot giving me full signal strength.

the intel wifi-link 6200 is not offered for the M11x (regardless if it's R1 or R2). the upgrade is a D.I.Y. and at ur own risk. the DW1520 card (made by Broadcom) is not a very good card, especially if u have a heavy transfer load. i'm not sure if ur warranty will be affected if u get ur card outside of Dell (e.g. Ebay). but if u get the card from dell (u have to convince them coz they'll keep insisting that it's incompatible with M11x), the card will be part of the existing warranty. (or 3 months if existing warranty is out)

u butthurt coz ur M15x not selling?? go improve ur "marketing strategy" then instead of moaning here.

did u try Ctrl=Alt-Del (might have to do it twice) on the login page? username might have been hidden or something.
