Tell them that your touchpad malfunctions. As such, Dell will replace your palm rest. Job done, you have replaced the missing rubber. This post has been edited by alvinkhorfire: Dec 22 2010, 12:50 PM |

Hey guys, I just came across this thread and hope I could really get some advice as I'm planning to get one.
I'm looking for M11x as it's small and portable yet powerful(IMO) than my previous laptop I assumed. There are few questions which I love to ask around and hope to get some input from the owner around. I'm currently using a Studio XPS 16 with 4GB ram running at Intel Duo Core T9600 @ 2.80GHz and ATI Mobility Radeon 4670. Oh I guess you guys can call it an upgrade as well. This 16" laptop I have to say is too bulky to bring around as I used to travel quite frequent. Furthermore with my growing enthusiasm for photography, I spent literally almost 4 hours or more on Lightroom 3 or sometimes Adobe CS5. Not to left out, I'm a gamer myself as well. I have the idea of bringing the laptop around with my camera/etc as I travel but with this 16", this create an obstacle. Say, if I'm looking for a M11x with i7-640UM Processor(1.20Ghz, 4 Threads, turbo boost up to 2.26GHz, 4M cache) and a maybe 6 or 8GB of ram, how good would it compared to my current laptop? Reason for bigger ram mainly because I used to have those 'lagging' moment when I'm using photoshop on my current laptop. I'm a heavy multitasker myself too. I hate it pretty much when everything slow down because it reached the peak limit hence I tend to suffer from computer 'spiking'. With my current GC while playing with some PC's game, say Prototype, suffered from lagging as well. Can't even take on medium setting and lag pretty much when it's crowded or there's plenty of smoke coming out. What say you guys? Added on December 22, 2010, 2:01 pmSomething to add on, how would my current monitor UltraSharp™ Full High Definition (1080p) RGBLED Display with TrueLife™ compared with the WideHD 720p WLED (1366x768) Display Integrated ? Or is it different level to compare with? This post has been edited by weingseen: Dec 22 2010, 02:01 PM |

QUOTE(rhoyo @ Dec 22 2010, 11:10 AM) no i learn my lesson . next time i will not buy this laptop .. lulz ur friend laptop . rubber kat kanan tu tercabut . same like me lulz Sorry to see this bro. I've been using my M15x for a year now and no cosmetics problems whatsoever. Build quality for mine is solid... I guess yours was one unlucky unit which had the thing fall off. Changing the toucpad is one good idea though cos the whole piece is changed....![]() No complaints on my unit so far save the fact I wish they released a higher end card and better PSU for the mobo for future upgrades. And that they could have squeezed in another HD slot..... |

Added on December 22, 2010, 12:07 pm M15x + Magnesium alloy ftw~ V1 has the same design as G9x/TactX Mouse. (I'm not sure if its V1 or V1x) Optical Sensor + Max 2400cpi. Doubt that's good but its really cheap though the mouse. V3 has the same sensor as SS Xai but build quality is the concern. Still the internal for that mouse is awesome. Hardly find review for those mouses. |
