QUOTE(TongCN @ Oct 22 2010, 04:54 PM) i can run, but somehow the new application will crash when i run a game .. the one i mentioned just now "NvXDSync.exe", not sure what's this. i think maybe for M15x and M17x should be fine with Nvidia generic driver, maybe M11x have different kind of hardware that only works with Dell driver or modded driver.M11x can only use modded 258.96 though how about others ? have M15x and M17x users tested with nvidia generic driver ? having any issue, please share. |

QUOTE(cafuheva @ Oct 22 2010, 07:39 PM) guys, if you buy m11x and want i7 processor, for Dell online website use the RM 3,499 customization deal and don't customize it from RM 3,999 deal, cause there are RM9 difference with the same spec you customize. Hehe. If you don't believe, try dummy customize it for both deal. best is to call their sales line and talk to someone via phone to get the best deal.Added on October 22, 2010, 7:41 pmRM 9 for monthly payment RM9 x 12= RM108 burn for silly mistake. You donate to dell for charity. make sure you are in front your system with internet connection so you can compare it. |

also the keyboard and LCD are very close, so if you press on top of the backcover it might touch the keyboard and leave mark on LCD. maybe you can put soft cloth in between.

QUOTE(awyongcarl @ Oct 29 2010, 07:14 PM) What is that kind of opinion lol. With all due respect sir, that is exactly the thing I am angry/rage about. Dell are shipping faulty goods to their customer, and whenever problem arises they just give them refurbished/used/etc and even if they replace them with a new one, problem are still there because the cause is not fixed. What? I paid a great fortune for it and I expect NOT to worry about breaking the hinge every 3-6 months. This is not right. Dell is being an arse and expect customer to go away with the warranty bullshit? You guys ever thought what happens when your warranty period is over? AND okay let's neglect that warranty crap, say Dell promised to replace the hinge even if the warranty is over, I still need to worry about when it's going to broken etc, and you know, your time are valuable, when it's broken, it needs time to be fixed and even though its NBD, it's still time. QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Oct 29 2010, 07:37 PM) Not only dell replaces parts with refurbish parts.. Did you read the warranty terms? Normally every company states they have the right to replace with refurbished working parts. Don't buy from Dell, plenty of options you got, ACER, HP, COMPAQ, BENQ,.....Well this must be the M11x design issue.. |

QUOTE(awyongcarl @ Oct 29 2010, 10:51 PM) You guys really need to realize that we, the customer are being ripoff. Those who have problem can complaint and get replacement parts done, why all M11x owner need to do event they dont have that issue ?Then again..Malaysia lol. Most customers themselves don't exactly know what they know or, what they are doing anyway. But..yes, I agree with you. Don't like it, don't buy it. It's so so so so so soooooooo true, I can't deny that. But to all M11x owner, I hope you all realize that this is clearly Dell being retarded and, do your part to complaint them. Can't believe a faulty expensive crap are being sold and shipped despite all the complaints the customer filed. maybe some parts changes or improvement has already been done. i can tell most-likely none of any product are perfect, event you are not perfect. name 1 perfect laptop that no one complaint about. |

QUOTE(awyongcarl @ Oct 29 2010, 11:00 PM) Lol, why are you getting fired up? Do you own the laptop and having this issue or you are just judging by reading on forum ?Obviously I'm directing the owners who have, or at least potentially have that problem. And no, no improvement has been done. You can choose to be blind though. I mean just google and read up forums. It's all there. Then again..if you want to be a fanboy, no one is stopping you. And when did I ever said something about being perfect? A hinge gave up for few months of normal usage is not called "imperfect", it's called flawed, faulty, defective, whichever that you think fit. SmartS. |

im not sure if everyone is aware of this.
few things need to consider, when the product have "known issue" and if its going to dangerous, it going to be recall world wide. this happen before to few manufacturer battery and ac adapter 2nd if the product having known issue such as easy broken hinge, or other part quality materiel is either they stop selling it or fix the issue. this happen to few of dell product, you dont see M1330 and M1530 selling anymore when they realize there is known issue with Nvidia video card that cant be solved. the video card which is on motherboard going to last 1 year max and its going to die, if you were lucky, you can get 2 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CitUQCRCNHM you will also get 1 year warranty of the motherboard and if you had replacement within that year , the motherboard automatic has another 1 year warranty till 5 years http://en.community.dell.com/blogs/direct2...nt-details.aspx now how does dell solve the issue and come out with new part ? if you notice on your ac adapter, battery and most of the parts in your laptop / desktop it has sticker something start like CN-0XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX REV A00 the last part A00 mean revision A00, sometimes your see A05 mean this part has been revise 5 times , it might have few issue before and it has been fixed. same as BIOS, you have A01, A02, A03. everytime you flash new BIOS it fix issue and sometimes might come out with new issue. if the issue cant be fix, dell for sure will stop selling because cost to repair it is not worth the money. at the time you see M11x R1 and M11x R2 using same hinge, same body, same video card, same LCD, mean Dell is making good profit and they want to continue to improve the CPU speed by changing new motherboard. so R1 and R2 sharing almost the same parts, some major part like CPU, RAM, video card might be different. so for someone to say dell know the product have known issue and not doing anything is not true. edit and of course, most users use Dell because of the service not really on the product quality or price. i had acer and HP before when i was back in studying, for acer to replace cdrom drive take nearly 2 months while dell only take 2 days. so i stick with dell since then, was like 5 years ago since i use dell. i had use many dell system, i can list those product or post picture if you want. im still going to disagree with you awyongcarl, for example on M15x and M17x if you notice there were some issue with the laggy touchpad.
its been going a while till dell find out and fix it, they come out with latest BIOS and tauchpad driver to solve this issue. when i had this issue on my M15x, it was seriously bugging me. QUOTE(awyongcarl @ Oct 30 2010, 09:49 AM) Disagree me on what? My point is , if there is known issue, they will fix it.I sure did noticed the low pole-rate touchpad when I got my M15x. Yeah they fixed it. Took them long enough though. Your point? Anyway, I think comparing a semi-defect touchpad which can be easily fixed by using a mouse, and a hinge that is going to fail easily, not too fair is it? i guess this not going to end, its very simple you dont like it, dont buy it. QUOTE(Bell&Ross @ Oct 30 2010, 11:46 PM) normally from Nvidia will be latest but best to download from support siteFrom Nvidia From Dell Support Site Added on October 31, 2010, 12:33 am QUOTE(JustinLFJ @ Oct 30 2010, 11:51 PM) Actually.. It was HighPoint, not acer. the time i went was back in 2004 / 2005 when they first have the slot load driveJust take ticket then face to face with that guy on counter, and he asked me to wait at the sofa there xD. Replace CD-ROM under warranty takes only 20 mins provided they have spare parts. EDIT: and at that time the guy was talking to another customer which brought his whole desktop there (lulz) I also cant believe he fixed it while handling a customer there were no stock and i have to wait for almost 2 months for the replacement part to arrive, after that i stop using acer.
