QUOTE(pierrechoong @ Nov 5 2010, 07:56 PM) ok i tot of taking the 3yrs completecoverage which cost bout rm700 if not mistaken.how much more if extend later? well, it might more expensive for bout 300-700 hundred, but if u extend in the period of warranty, it cost might a bit less.but is it really worth coz the built is good quality as it might not have any problem for years to come rite? thanks Well, 1 year is enough, will see in the future whether u still need the laptop or u gonna upgrade, maybe alienware S17x, hahaha |

QUOTE(pierrechoong @ Nov 6 2010, 07:13 PM) Der Sifus, 1) go for OCZ vertex 2 (must be 120GB above), in order for sandforce to perform well, 120GB is the option, OCZ have thier own firmware and the snaforce flash which had modified by them, hence it is perform better than any Sandforce in the market.Got 2 questions: 1) Upgrade HDD to SSD Which Brand to go for? Heard that those with sandbridge is better n faster. Vertex 2 has but always got prob. Should i opt for corsair performa?or any brand you recommend? 2) Upgrade RAM For M15X- its DDR3 1333MHZ rite? any specific brand to go for? Thanks 2)notebook RAM dont expect u can do anything, 1066 is good enough which the performance is not significant as well, if 1333 then 1333 if 1066 then 1066, no need to waste the money to by other brand. If it is desktop then different story, for some of my friend which is rich and dont know how to "play" thier desktop and bought a 2000mhz RAM for no overclocking, is a waste |

QUOTE(pierrechoong @ Nov 8 2010, 12:55 AM) hey sifus, i just ordered an m15x n will probably get it in couple of weeks later. while waiting 4 it, i wanted to get a crumpler. (part n parcel to be exact) but i dont think it will fit into d dedicated lappie compartment bcoz m15x is extremely bigger than the rest of the 15inch lappies so wat are u guys using for m15x in terms of crumpler? or any good brands u guys are using t the moment? thanks QUOTE(hackcremo @ Nov 8 2010, 06:47 AM) QUOTE(lostcaus @ Nov 8 2010, 08:17 AM) For m15x I would recommend most 17 inch laptop bag. Currently using everki beacon. It's large and has space for another lappy or you can try alienware orion QUOTE(MikeX @ Nov 8 2010, 10:51 AM) QUOTE(riku2replica @ Nov 8 2010, 12:28 PM) QUOTE(MikeX @ Nov 8 2010, 12:34 PM) QUOTE(Lil Kiasu @ Nov 8 2010, 12:51 PM) then during long distance flights... play game on M11x then if finish battery use another one and so on~ My orion which can fit, 1 XPS Studio 16, 1 inspiron 14, M11x, M17x and 1 Textbook. QUOTE(Traveler @ Nov 8 2010, 04:24 PM) For me, I am sure Dell USA is cheaper, at least when it comes to m11x. I have priced earlier on this thread, and also a new lighter config just now. m11x with 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD (so as to match US-Malaysia configs, US config has Bluetooth added and customized laser engraved plate for free). US price USD988 = RM3,062 (at USD1=RM3.10, while Malaysian price is RM4,179; which is 36.5% higher! Bro, i think youare wrong with the spec as u mention, the differences not only I have no qualms about paying for what I get (my very first laptop was a heavy 15.1" Dell laptop with optional dual batteries that lasted 7h, Zip drive, optical drive, etc - back when laptops had 12" screens; paid USD5k for that when USD1=RM3.80). But I do have serious reservations about buying something that costs 36.5% more here, than it does in the US, when it's an identical spec and both laptops come from China anyway. I seriously doubt it costs RM1.1k more to ship the laptop to Malaysia than it does to ship it to the USA. It's obvious that Dell MY feels they can price gouge us, while Dell US is more competitive (probably due to heavier competitition from other manufacturers). Dell SG is even more expensive than Dell MY but I can understand the extra cost (relative to MY), given that SG has a 7% GST. Glad that you found it to be cheaper for you. I wish it worked for the m11x. My personal preference for desktops is to DIY (have DIY-ed all my desktops except for my very first PC, and two Dell desktops which bought while in the US) Wow.. that's one heavy backpack! No need to go to gym if you're carrying that daily. 1)RAM 2)HDD, Check back the 3)warranty(1 year basic which is limited hardware warranty is not covered by accidental warranty like water spill on laptop, fell down and etc) only 1 year advance is cover by the accidental which malaysia offer 1. 4)more thing antivirus in US website is 30 days trail and malaysia come with 15 months as well. 5) Malaysia M11x come with bluetooth as well, only the name plate is not customizeable. while make it as same spec, the price will be RM3699 vs 1267USD(RM3927). Not to mention getting from other retailer or reseller like me which can get a lot cheaper price. Added on November 8, 2010, 10:57 pm QUOTE(riku2replica @ Nov 8 2010, 05:37 PM) puto, faster grad lor.... Dun stay in MMU for too long... well, MMU vry less people use Alienware, i can say none, but M11x got fewBtw, got more aliens owner in Cyber campus?
