Create a US iTunes account. Google it up or look at the "New to iPhone" Guide here. Top up credit using US iTunes gift cards. Buy iBooks from iBookStore by using the iBook app downloaded from the US iTunes Store.

Amazon Kindle books? Here. Then download the Kindle app from the US iTunes App Store. Sync your Amazon Kindle account and ebooks purchased from this account will appear on the Kindle app.
