The phone looks great except the screen resolution
*
CBD shld be great on such a big screen.
surely a best seller if priced below galaxy s and iphone 4.

Nice phone nice price nice large screen
but low reso, no microsd, & a left-out OS...
hmph, should buy this or not? hmm.gif

Are you sure?
Both the N97 & X6 that I have used have has boot-up problems...& hard-reset a couple of times sad.gif

But still undeniably, Symbian is a good OS biggrin.gif
minus all the lack of apps and stuff and stuff...the list goes on & on tongue.gif
*
the biggest problem wt symbian, it was not developed for touch interface.
but as a mobile os, it is very reliable, stable & user-friendly.
apps is quite limited by other developers, but nokia beta labs had produced many innovative software like situations & bubble. more to come too.

best os for the touch interface is iOS.
on the other hand, android is an unremarkable os, created mainly for the nerds/geeks who cannot accept apple's refinement.

symbian os would be maintained as middle range phones and it wld be integrated into ovi ecosystem.
by the time nokia finishes with symbian, its probably time for another phone change.

but price is definitely higher then i expected.
by right it shld be 1800 nia bcos of lousy camera.

n8 seems like a much more better buy.

Is there a need of screen protector and other casing for this phone? How well is the anti-scratch?
*
it's built like an abrams tank. its anodized aluminum is resistant to normal wear/tear scratches.
screen is made from the famous gorilla glass.

the only reason you need a screen protector is bcos it's CBD is too dazzling bright for your eyes.
only reason you need a casing is just to look stylish.

too sad, i cant insert memory card into it. the 16gb internal memory is not enough for me. sad.gif
*
guess you won't have the privilege of using this super excellent phone! sad.gif

since documents/hi-res photos do not take up so much space,
perhaps you are the non-professional user, and most of the files you intend to keep are HD video files.
maybe you need to change your bad habits a bit and be more organized.
i'm sure if you do proper housekeeping from time to time, 16gb is sufficient.

otherwise, plenty of other phones offer microSD expandable memory.

hi. can i ask what price you bought it for? and a review?
*
Bought for RM 1995

Summaryreview

Design & Build quality 9.9 /10
Slide mechanism is smooth and firm once its up. slides down smoothly with sponge effect before fully closed.
Keyboard buttons are tight and responsive.

Screen is gorgeous. CBD is definitely 2nd best after Retina.
The huge screen and rich colors are better then galaxy s.

Telephony and software 8.0 /10
Calls are clear on both sides, no reception issues.
Interface is same as N8. but larger screen makes touch experience more pleasing.

... to be continued

thanks for that. can ask important question? hows batt life? if can last a day and half?
*
wld say dat battery life is quite average.
with 3g, wifi ON
calls roughly wld not be more than 2 hours a day, rcv/replied 43 sms and 15 emails.

from disconnecting the charger in the morning to before sleeping, charge remaing is 63% (according to nokia battery monitor ver 1.3)
after buy the phone last Friday evening, this mrng was my 2nd time charging.

will continue to monitor and see.

E7 came with Quickoffice and PDF mobile fully installed. N8 have trial version only. of course, quickoffice are no match for Office Mobile on Windows mobile 7.
*
the guy/gal did not mention whether he/she is a professional that works in corporate.
maybe she/he is a professional toilet washer or dancer or sumthg...
so n8 is more suitable.

Nokia must provide a crash course class how to slide open your Nokia E7 phone lol.
*
upon unboxing, there is already big sticker showing how to slide the phone.
it's quite easy if you spend just a little time to understand the picture.

i tried the E7 today. seems the capacitive touchscreen require you to use the whole finger palm to touch the screen, less it won't work. even if i touch with the forward edge of my finger just below the nail won't work. i have a pretty big finger and it's damn difficult to be precise.
*
there is no such problem for me. screen is quite sensitive.
it can even sense just at the fraction of the moment before finger actually touch the screen.
you might have sweaty/oily fingers or the touchscreen needs to be recalibrated.

yesh!! N900 always slide open in my pocket when I'm playing sports biggrin.gif

Added on March 9, 2011, 11:34 pm
hahah, yeah. I know its sensitivity is good cause it's capacitive and I have nothing against it but the way you say it is kind of exaggerating biggrin.gif
No offense just saying for fun biggrin.gif
Anyway, yes, because it's capacitive it's very sensitive to touch and btw, capcitive screen don't need to recalibrate smile.gif
*
oops, didn't know no need to calibrate ady. blush.gif
perhaps restarting the phone will help.

Some people were harping of E7's EDOF camera.
So did anyone managed to test the camera?
*
camera's not too great. like most cameras except n8 use it only as last resort.
but videos are quite good. HD recording and fixed focus makes it an excellent video recorder.
the dual-led flash enhances darker situations well as far as video is concerned.

*
it's not gps problem. but ur data download for maps is very slow. positioning shld be instant.
