QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 20 2010, 03:19 PM) Oh ya... Internal memory, LOL... Phone vs Internal... But since you already know the problem liao, its hardware limitation, why still sad? I'm disappointed with previous N97, really frustrated with out of memory problem. But very pleased that N900 doesn't have that problem. So I think it's Symbian problem that won't allow user to install either internal or external memory.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 20 2010, 03:21 PM) So sifu what's the transfer rate between the phone memory , internal memory and external memory is like? So if install in internal memory is it the same speed as phone memory? so if use mass storage is it better to store in the internal memory or external memory? What makes out of memory is the little space of phone memory. Hence, huge space = won't be a problem. The speed depend on the RAM and how many application is open. If application is design like auto launcher after booting, alot of RAM will be used thus make the phone terribly lag. Also, it depend on the OS whether the OS is smart enough to maintain the speed by controlling the running app like freezing it on the background. Added on September 20, 2010, 2:27 pmIt's better the OS allow user to install application either internal or external memory. Option is always better. QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 20 2010, 03:28 PM) Actually, under what situation did you encounter them? I did tried out an experiment. When sending a file which is much bigger than the phone memory via bluetooth, it will encounter error. I think this problem is worst on 7610 where the phone memory is around 10MB++. The ROM was meant only for phone operation storage to store stuffs like SMSes, MMSes, Contact List instead of being for Application. When installing an application So I really think it's Symbian problem, not the hardware. :\

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 20 2010, 03:30 PM) Thanks so what i wanna understand why is there nand ram? like N97 it have 256mb ram and N97mini have 512mb ram it heard it makes a different how does this play a role in the memory allocation Like some people here discussed, NAND is flash memory, so I think it really about speed of memory allocation. I think la, dunno if it's right or wrong.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 20 2010, 03:32 PM) Yea like the Screen Resolution 360 x 640 for symbian ? is it true it cant go higher? due to OS limitation? This one, I really don't know. So no comment bout it.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 20 2010, 03:33 PM) so if install in phone memory should it reduce seek time? What if install in internal memory? What's the different seek time between phone memory and internal memory? If we understand this it will help improve reduce lagginess while multi tasking right sifu? Erm... RAM has a big roll in it and so the memory. About the seek time, I really don't know but think it doesn't show any BIG difference anyway.

QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 20 2010, 03:36 PM) Well, depends. Lets just say that your phone memory left 10MB for example. When you try to install SIS, it will still have to extract those file and then copy them to the installation destination. Now if Symbian extract those files into the ROM before copying them to the Internal Storage, and if it happened to exceed the phone memory (for example 10MB as we speak now), yeah, it would give you a out of memory error. Similar to the bluetooth file sending error that I tried out. But for most, I think it's really Symbian problem for not being so smart

From every Nokia phone I used, the most problem is N97. Seems A2SD didn't really worked on N97, so it's Symbian problem.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 20 2010, 03:41 PM) Since sifu so geng its best we listen what sifu have to share with us isnt that why u all come together here. We have alot to learn from you we look forward for your guidance and knowledge to expand and understand the world of technology. We still waiting your answer on the seek thing. Its a very interested topic care to ellaborate more? It might help us understand better how symbian works? I think the seek "thing" doesn't show any huge differences here. Take example like your HDD, you can partitioned it to C:, D:, E:. So phone memory and internal memory is like one "HDD" but separate into 2 types of partition = phone memory and internal memory C:. Correct me if I'm wrong, just telling what I understand so far

QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 20 2010, 03:45 PM) Huh?? So, issit your phone memory left very little when installing app that gives you the out of memory error? or just having your RAM fully occupied to perform the installation? Can't recall, but I think it's when installing an app.

QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 20 2010, 03:48 PM) You never confirm the exact problem for that? Should check RAM level to verify the source of the error. Well, I dump N97 a long time ago. So don't remember much but only could think that it was when installing an application Added on September 20, 2010, 2:50 pmWhy can't people correct me if they know I was wrong. QUOTE(andrekua @ Sep 20 2010, 05:21 PM) Yes, Maxis call it RECONTRACT. For example, your contract left 6months, so now you can SAMBUNG KONTRAK, 6months + 12months = 18months bound. Very desperate to sell it seem. http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/iphone4/contract.aspBTW, thinking of selling your SGS to me cheaply liao issit? 1.4k RM1.4k? QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 20 2010, 05:43 PM) Thanks for your explanation. So it is RM88 + (iPhone price / 36 months)? The 3rd year is no longer bound to contract but still have repayment correct? The 1st 2 year must stay with Digi, 3rd year you can cancel the line but still have to pay the repayment? To put it simple, the phone is actually not free. 3rd year u have to pay.
