during the time the first iPhone came out, people bash it and prefer N95 as a do it all device, then iphone 3g release with AGPS, while N96 was rubbish, after that 3GS vs N97, no one even bother to compare these two although N97 gained some initial hype but not after its been launched,

will N8 repeat the same history as N97 or N96?

Apple despite being a close source platform, grow alot in the past 3 years, so do Android, where has symbian been up to

N97 - 128MB RAM?
After fresh boot, it's around 50MB++ (Phone memory)? Can't remember the exact amount.
N97 Mini - 256MB RAM?
After fresh boot, it has more than 100MB++ (Phone memory).

Why does the RAM affects the Phone Memory available?

Although Android phone came with 512MB ROM, only left 200MB++ and very fast dwindling. I only lef 30MB++.

How did you guys abuse the memory card?

Install many application. Install 10~14 application on N97 = out of memory. Install 20+ application on SGS, no problem encounter. LOL Means, bigger memory, the better.

If the phone memory is huge say 4gb~5gb, it won't have memory shortage. But since phone memory is used for core application, then 3rd part application should be install in either internal memory or external memory.

But since you already know the problem liao, its hardware limitation, why still sad?

so if install in phone memory should it reduce seek time? What if install in internal memory? What's the different seek time between phone memory and internal memory?

If we understand this it will help improve lagginess right sifu?

how to verify the source of the error? check apps manager? Can Ram booster helps? or apps like KILLME?

Sold my N97 already as well. I wonder how does C6 perform against the N97?

I think someone can list down in details each part and also the error for easier reference or confused people like me.
Example: like what sklchan listed each item and it's explanation
Then the types of error message, like Out Of Memory Or Memory Full, what else?

Many people also confused with Internal/Mass Storage with Phone Memory; It doesn't matter if they get a 16GB model VS 8GB model or SD card model (e.g. the older generation Nokia which have either option only), the low Phone Memory problem is still there.

Don't really know why, that's why I'm wondering why my Phone Memory low also get error, maybe the ram was also low that time; Have to use those app to see the ram usage only know.

Perhaps, some process still not yet clear off in RAM? Not sure...

Care to ellaborate memory leaks means its restore but it just doesnt acknowledge it in system memory?

Higher resolution really makes a difference especially in web browsing and texts related. Impressive on the iphone retina display
